Howd on a minute. He's a retired solicitor and did a similar act for the Barrymore case. I'm thinking it's not that he's a busybody but more like he's using his professional skills to try and bring these prosecutions into the court room as a vehicle to publicise the case. That way more information will have to be sort as to these cases.

It happens quite a bit in the US to tryand catch out folk when there's not enough evidence for a State prosecution. The burden of proof does not have to be as great for a private prosecution I believe.

What exactly would charging the McCanns with neglect solve? I think it is pretty bloody obvious that they fucked up big style and they are going to have to live with their actions for the rest of their lives (providing they didn't do it of course which seems pretty unlikely).

Also, what gain would a private prosecution bring and who would it benefit? Perhaps it's best if this fella stays retired if he didn't realise that the courts had no jurestriction in this case.

A proper social worker would give the bummer Barrymore a council grant rather than sue him.
