I can think of far worse people than Freddie Shepherd to take over the club. At least he's a football man. Some dodgy managerial appointments grante, but he did also appoint Gullitt, Dalgleish, Robson and erm... Allardyce. He also backed them in the transfer market.

Yes but he is only worth millions, just like Eddie Davies. To make an impact in football now you need to be worth hundreds of millions or billions.
