January 12, 201313 yr Some interesting stories there. On my mothers side; forever white. My great grandfather had a heart attack at the match c1913 v Stoke and died 4 days later. My father was from L/H and as a kid walked to OT one week and Burnden the next, settling on Bolton when he married into Bolton.
January 12, 201313 yr An article on a thread i read yesterday about RMI moving to Leigh off some hardcore Horwich fans got me a bit miffed, christ, they would have done nothing if that team would have stayed at Grundy Hill, at least the move to Leigh got them in to the Conf Prem and some good FA Cup runs. I know it all went pair shaped when Hilton Park was deemed unfit and the team got screwed up at the Leigh Sports Village, but all in all i think the history of Horwich RMI lived on in Leigh Genesis. Woah there! We had successes. I'll never forget our day out to Blackpool. The move to Leigh was sad. He never went again and he never spoke to the owners again either. It ran very deep the dislike of what they'd done.
