It’s important in this debate to understand the injury point isn’t somebody off twitter saying a one liner as that’s the only reason we didn’t go up automatically .

But you clearly can’t dismiss it as one of the reasons when it has affected us so badly. The other one I missed out in earlier discussions is George Johnston, massive miss this season.

Those stats at first glance leave you bewildered as to why we are not in the top two; goals scored, ratio of shots to  goals etc etc. But they are skewed as others have pointed out by some convincing home wins.

So IMO there are definite improvements to be made in areas such as; specific game preparation, in-game management from players and manager and I would like to see IE be a little more flexible with tactics/formation/recruitment and less process driven at times.

But I’ve said on numerous occasions, he’s a young, passionate, educated and dedicated manager who is improving as the team/squad is year on year

I’m with @Horwich you can’t deny the improvement. Might not feel like it at the moment this year, but goals, wins, points and position will all improve. And as the season comes to a conclusion we are still in with a very good chance of going up, much better prospects than previous seasons.

This with massive big bells on

Everyone will have different opinions, personally I felt barely any confidence going into the play offs last season.

This year I feel highly confident that we can get the job done.

We just played the runaway leaders of the league and battered them all over the pitch. We battered Oxford and Reading recently at home who are both solid.

Id fancy us to grind out a draw away and get the job done home in the 2nd leg.

The crowds and support has been building over the past few years, however I think recently we've really shown our potential.

Unbelievable atmosphere today, I was a bit gutted we didn't win and possibly lost our chance of automatic promotion. But I can't help but just feel immensely proud of how far we've come as a club.

Fuckin ell two games ago they were worst pairing since time began :D

Was meant as in, best of the bunch on that day. No way Charles should have started.

Agreed, he’s better than but Coleman, but Coleman’s been fine and got better. So he’s done his job.

Can’t have been helped by the defensive f*ck up in his first 5 mins of league football for us at Northampton.

Coleman getting better every game. Shows what a run of games can do.

  5. Considering the number of injuries we've had in the spine of the team and the number of games this affected squad choice/rotation. To still be third in the league and with a glimmer of hope still of an Automatic spot is some achievement.

I fear the lottery of the play offs, but think we have the edge over all the others who could be involved (bar Lincoln, Lincoln sneaking into the play offs on a tremendous run, is scary)

Positives are we hopefully have a full strength squad for the final phase(s)

    Again?

George was great. He may have a rep for getting booked, but he is also one of the most fouled players in the league - and that's because of his relentless ratting about in the middle which is just what we need. Would have been up there however he tried a couple of those looping first time passes - which can be brilliant - that he didn't connect with properly last night and made him look daft. Superb performance otherwise.

    after Sheehan?

Really want to see Dempsey back in from the start as we look lightweight through the middle. He's also got a good shot and always looking for that chance on the edge of the box. With our shortage of strikers think we need any extra attacking edge we can get.

Dempsey was way off his game Saturday

I’d rim a tramp for 3 points tonight.
7 games next month including Barnsley and Derby away.

Win against this lot could give us the momentum we need to go on a run when it matters most.

  11. 15 games without a win (now 16)

    New Manager "bounce".

    Injuries and suspensions for us.

This was always going to be a tough game regardless of league positions. Any team can beat any team in this league on any given day. Couldn't get there again yesterday and have missed more than attended this season for various reasons. But managed to watch most on tele.

Charlton have got Portsmouth then Derby next. I'd put money on them getting 4 points.....

Please someone quote me after Pompey game.....👀

Here's hoping, things can change so suddenly and like you said, 15 game to go so so much can happen.

Last season Sheff Weds looked unstoppable and then ironically after drawing to us just before Wembley in mid March and after 30 or something unbeaten, they could barely win any games for the rest of the season.

Ipswich were comfortably worse off than us now at this point last season, yet they went on an incredible run, winning something like 13 of their last 17 games.

I don't believe we will need to see 96+ points for autos this season again. I think 90ish should get it.

Ipswich also giving the championship a go at moment too
