  1. Things will change next season, we will select all the venues in the closed season and publish an event schedule at the start of the season so everyone will know when and where we are ! We have discussed this with the club who are happy for the players to attend various venues/towns, these won't be 'back water' pubs, they will be reputable venues like the one mentioned by Athywhite. I'm of the opinion that holding all the monthly social events at the Reebok is having a detrimental effect on the bwsa, and also devalues the Reebok as a?special venue? where the main event takes place (a bit like holding every round of the FA Cup at Wembley) plus there are a lot of supporters who find it difficult to get to Middlebrook on a cold December Tues night, then there's the cost of refreshments inside, which again can offputting, so by taking it on the road we can make ourselves more accessible to all supporters of bwfc especially in these tight economic times, We'll still be holding the ?main? events such as the Christmas bash and the player of the year awards at the Reebok, but these will then be viewed more as a treat and less as the norm hopefully attracting more supporters ? As for social networking, we are well on our way in that department with the launch of our brand new website www.thebwsa.co.uk also we can be followed on twitter @thebwsa and also facebook, so we are embracing all things new or trying to anyway
  2. Glad you enjoyed it Kent_white, We actually discussed you're post last night about being a member and having to come on here to find out where and when the next event is held, as a result I'm currently building a new data base so in the future we will be able to contact all members via email or post with personal invites to any BWSA functions, we will also be able to send out monthly newsletters like the ones we had last night, So if you can just bear with us, hopefully we'll address all you're concerns by the time the next event comes around on the 22nd March (at a venue to be decided, any ideas ? we?re thinking, Atherton, Farnworth of Tonge Moor but are open to any suggestions ? We welcome all comments whether it is criticism or even more criticism, We also welcome any ideas or better still, if you think you could help in any way, expect to be Press Ganged into service immediately As for posting on the forums, we think it's imperative we continue to build up good relationships with all the forums, we're not here to compete we're here to compliment, you'll be surprised how many supporters who attended last night actually use the forums, they where alot more clued up than I anticipated, and don?t forget, some people still like to attend these type of events, just like some of us still like to attend live games in this internet/digital world we live in !
  3. Your wrong, the consensus we get from the forums have been very positive about the bwsa, ok there are a few people who still have the perception of cardigans and werthers, but that will change. Ask kentwhite to tell you the average age of the people there tonight(over 350 by the way)to pay tribute to a man who over 70% of us never saw play ? Ask him if he'll attend our next event if we take it to Atherton or Farnworth or Tonge Moor ?
  4. I was being sarcastic because your main reason for not implementing the changes wasn't because you had alternative ideas yourself but because they've already been tried or tested? All the things I pointed out where not my ideas, they are already in place in the bundesliga, and are very successful with full houses across the board and brilliant atmospheres in grounds and clubs not too dissimilar to ours !
  5. Oh well then, everything that needs doing has been done, don't know why I'm bothering? wish I'd have spoke to you 6mths ago!
  6. Fair point, Now what about some realistic ideas like Creating a 'lever end' (north upper tier) get the young kids in, the singers, make it affordable for anyone (the price of going to the pictures) charge ?8 youth ?13 adult, did anyone notice the atmosphere on Saturday when the upper tier was full in the away end, because the singing supporters are closer to the roof, the noise bounces back down and creates an unbelievable sound, reminiscent of Burnden! Make the corners family areas, with the ticket packages to fill them ie ?15 adult Make the upper tiers on the east and west ?22 adult with the lower tier ?28 Make away end ?18 adult ?8 junior, no better atmosphere when the away end is full, plus clubs will feel obliged to reduce the price of the return fixture, making it cheaper for us! Gate areas around the concourse outside the exits for smokers to go at half time! Bring in better Beer Company, at affordable prices These are all doable, I suppose you can pick holes with everything, but there are a thousand things we as supporters can come up with to make the experience better !
  7. I can understand why people on here would be sceptical of anything the club might suggest, but I'm gobsmacked at the negativity towards this venture from so many! We're supporters just like you, we have the same apprehensions and misgivings when dealing with the club and the official supporters club, but the only way we feel we can change things is if we all come together and change from within! I don't want to be on here in 10yrs time moaning about the same things, ok, the club is doing everything it can to re-connect with the fans, but we've all been supporting this club long enough to know that can change over night, therefore we feel we should take advantage of the situation and get the supporters club in a position that we feel it?s lost over the last 20yrs, representing the majority of fans, not just the blue rinse brigade?
  8. I was making the point that a strong supporters club can be all things to any club !
  9. The official Supporters do, in fact I'm told that all their champions league away tickets are allocated exclusively to the official supporters club members! And don?t forget, Barcelona's official supporters association actually own their club
  10. I didn't say I wanted to change anything. Our point is, we're the only club in the premiership whose supporters don?t have a say in how the club is run! Our fan base is so fragmented with all the forums and what not, the club has to rely on outsourcing for supporter feedback when surely an effective supporters club will give them all the feed back they could ever want and more besides! Was it on here I read last night that people where suggesting ideas to the club 5/6yrs ago? Surely we shouldn?t have to wait that long to put these idea in place?
  11. This is the future! If you want a say in how our club is run, then get down to the reebok tomorrow
  12. Firstly I'd like to thank all those who have registered their interest both on line and physically, the massive response we've had from BWFC supporters from around the globe together with all the online forums has been nothing short of overwhelming. This is a short message Just to keep you updated on our progress. In just over a week we have signed up over 100 supporters both on-line and non-pc users The next stage is to organise an initial meeting in Bolton, to answer any questions and to have a general discussion on the way forward, what the BWSC can accomplish,. To form a committee and formulate a mandate. The meeting will be announced in the local press, via email and through the many online supporter forums. If you have any suggestions or would like to take a more active roll in this brand new Bolton Wanderers Supporters Club, you can contact me direct at bwfcsc@mail.com
  13. Just reminding you all to register your interest or tell your friends about us. we need to double the current members to take it on to the next level thanx Matt www.bwfcsc.co.uk
  14. Thanks for the advice, we're just starting the ball rolling, if only 30 people show an interest, it won't go any further than this, but if enough people respond then we'll hold a public meeting and take it from there.
