  1. There wasn't last season was there? Dunno why - FA Cup early Jan perhaps

Wasnt that because the Derby game was televised the following day?

And sometimes NYD football can be a struggle. Not sure why :drinks:

  2. All that equipment was installed under the old regime and most of it is no longer being used as 50% of the back-room staff have been shown the door as Megson does not believe in the value of sports science, Gary Speed said siad that the methods used under BSA extended his career by 3 years and Arsenal have not done bad using it, the academy has been scaled down and now only employ 2 full time coaches as we do not have funds to compete in the transfer market I would have thought this would have been a good investment.

Is there a full stop drought where you live?

It's dickheads like Rob59999 that give Wikipedia a bad name. Posting unreferenced shite and rumour mill stuff as FACT just because they're bored.

I use Wikipedia a lot but for football - never.

Most articles on there are actually pretty accurate and referenced correctly.

He's probably got the stuff from here

  4. JJ live's in Bromley Cross.

JAY Jay Okocha has been banned from driving for 30 days after being caught speeding on a motorway in his Ferrari,

was clocked at 116 mph as he travelled south on the M6 toll road in April.

He was on his way from Bolton to attend his godson?s first communion in London when mobile patrol officers stopped him for speeding.

The striker even took time out to sign autographs for one of the traffic police officers who booked him.

North Staffordshire Magistrates Court heard yesterday how Okocha was clocked at 116.3mph in his black Ferrari on the toll road near Birmingham.

He stopped immediately and told the officers: "I did not think I was going that fast, I?m sorry."

Okocha, of Shady Lane, Bolton, appeared in court in a black suit, white shirt and grey tie. He was charged under his real name, Augustine Azuka Okocha, and pleaded guilty.

As for Arcon its really nice, alot of money for not alot of property but is like its own little village. :good:

    He did live up there.

He used to rent a place off a friend's Dad but moved out some time ago.

  5. A player has to leave the field intentionally if he is to be cautioned.

If he leaves the field accidentally during play he is still considered active.

Bit harsh if his knee's hanging off though.

  6. Opens up a bit of a can of worms does this.

Understand player has to leave field "intentionally". Was Panucci injured or acting?

Ironic that it's RVN benefiting too. Player who's well up for a bit of gamesmanship - though he wasn't obviously.

  7. monday hangovers aren't exclusive to sunday drinking though, this is more and more apparent as my years advance

sometimes, a big saturday can have lasting effects till tuesday, sometimes wednesday

    Too true.

Leathered Friday/Sat night. Drinking till 3am.

I was never sober on Saturday.

Still fecked today. Body clock as much as anything.

  8. always liked the scene where the mike atherton look a like cop tried to go to the funeral of the bloke from the rough as f?ck estate who'd died in police custody

tense as you like if I remember, followed by proper tw?tting off about 20 locals

I remember that. Twas a good scene.

Think he was involved with Ruth Higham - the Page 3 girl from Bolton.

And seem to remember a restraining order too.

TV star took model on `ride of terror'

From the Bolton Evening News, first published Saturday 8th Apr 2000.

TOP television actor Jack Marsden was behind bars today after taking his former girlfriend, Bolton model Ruth Higham, on a ride of terror.

Marsden, immaculately dressed in a dark pin stripe suit, visibly paled when he was jailed for three months by Bolton magistrates.

He was handcuffed and led down to the cells clutching a copy of FHM magazine which featured a picture of model Ruth topless with other half-naked girls.

Magistrates also banned him from driving for three years. An appeal against sentence was immediately lodged but an application for bail until the appeal was heard was refused by magistrates.

Marsden's downfall came after he persuaded his ex-girlfriend to talk to meet him to see if they could get back together. Even though he was disqualified from driving he picked her up in a car from her home.

But when she said there was no future in their relationship he lost his temper and refused to let her out of the car, then drove wildly around a residential area before smashing into a garden wall at 70mph near Ruth's Harwood home.

Marsden, aged 36, of Corporation Street in Manchester -- who has signed a contract to star again in the BBC 2 TV series Cops, set in and around Bolton -- appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court to face sentence on five serious driving charges.

Marsden had previously been found guilty of driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance, failing to stop after an accident, failing to report an accident and dangerous driving. The court was told that while driving around the conversation between the couple became heated and his ex-girlfriend wanted to leave the car.

But Prosecutor Lauren Strang said Marsden refused to let her out and started driving the car wildly around residential streets at speeds of 60 and 70mph.

Miss Higham was hysterical and Marsden finally lost control and smashed into a garden wall leaving an 80ft skid mark. Later, when questioned by police he denied all knowledge of the incident saying he was on a train at the time of the offence and even denied that he was a banned driver.

But police tracked down his car to a garage and discovered it had been repaired after suffering crash damage and also found soil and brick dust in a tyre which had been changed.

Magistrates had ordered an all options, including custody, probation report to be prepared at the last hearing, which had to be adjourned because Marsden disputed his criminal record. The report had recommended probation.

Defence solicitor, Barry Cutter, said that the offences had occurred within 12 days of the end of the driving ban. He had received his licence back from the DVLA and thought he could drive legally. He said that Marsden had acted under a misapprehension.

Jailing him for a total of three months the chairman of the bench said: "These are very serious matters indeed. You have prevaricated in these proceedings. You have a bad driving record, you were a disqualified driver who left the scene and you showed a total disregard for any other road users or residents."

He was sentenced to three months for dangerous driving, two months concurrent for driving while disqualified, one month concurrent for failing to stop after an accident and one month concurrent for failing to report an accident.
