  1. Have to put these shitcunts to the sword ahead of Saturday’s derby game to give us a bit of a leeway.

Wigan at home will be our first real test, I expect us to brush aside Fleetwood, hope I’m not in for a nasty shock.

Ideally we smash the cods 5-0 and go into the Wigan game with full confidence and make August a 100% win ratio in the league.

Have some tricky games in September with P’bro, Reading, Shrewsbury and Derby.

Have to say though - so far, the team this season have looked a level above last season. Our build up play and decision-making around the box looks much improved. Dempsey is playing like a man possessed and Vic/Charles look like a theyre forming a very good partnership.

  2. The pre/post match interviews are usually pretty boring (especially the player ones) which makes me not want to pay the fee. I don’t think many clubs put these things behind a pay wall but some do.

Imagine the Bolton news will have a subscription and just transcribe Evatt’s pre/post match words for their articles. Also the BWFC website has articles of the interview in reading form.

50 quid is a lot just for some meaningless interviews that you can read for free. I’d do it if there were 5 or 6 people pitching in for one account. Then it’s only a 10er for the season.

Shame we dont get full match or extended replays as with ifollow last season though

  3. Would be a shame to see Thomason go, as I think he could have a breakthrough season but I think for the fee being quoted, it would be hard to turn down. If it's 200k, up front then the 800k in bonuses then maybe not, considering the fee they've just received. I'd be wanting as much as possible up front. If it's 500k up front and the rest in instalments, I'd definitely take that.

As Barry says, Thomason is not integral to the squad. Although I do think he's a very useful player to have.

It would leave us with Dempsey, Morley, Maghoma, Sheehan to play the 2 deeper midfield roles, which is plenty. But Dempsey also plays the more advanced #10 role.

So, no Thomason may mean more chance for Mendes Gomes to play the #10 role if Dempsey has to be deployed in the deeper role more often.

  4. Superb performance. First 5/10 mins I thought it was gonna be a tough game. Didn't look like we could get into a rhythm but that first goal was absolute quality. Lovely lay-off from Victor. He couldn't trap a ball or do a first time pass for toffee last season, so I'm buzzing for him that he's managed to up his game.

After that the confidence was up and it was an easy win. Up the whites :D

I was talking shite the other day mate. Not available in the UK. Only available if you're abroad (or using a VPN). I'm currently "in Barcelona".

I used a VPN and bought this match pass

    - now I'm on here https://www.bwfc.co.uk/video/live and seems to be working. Wasn't working as I started typing this message though. Hopefully it's a stable stream, as long as I stay on VPN

    Aye maybe.

I'd be off like a shot.

Feel like there’s not a huge amount of glory winning with Bayern unless it’s the champions league, same for psg

at least in Spain there’s 2 or 3 teams challenging every season

Dortmund should’ve won it in the last season but 10 titles in a row for Bayern now

  7. Genuinely have no clue what sort of fee Thomason would command. Anything over 500k would surprise me.

I rate him more than others do but at the same time, I’d have though Morley would be one to be targeted over Thomason

He's an absolute bellend if he stays.

Bit harsh, can go to any club he wants next season, will have loads more choice and can maybe go to a stronger PL side, win a trophy and break Shearer’s record

Good deal for Spurs and Kane will win stuff for the first time in his career, but surely being the all time PL top scorer holds more prestige than winning trophies in a shit league.

Some on Twitter saying trophies are forever, records are temporary/can be broken.

still think getting 300 PL goals is very attainable at Spurs or another PL club next summer and would be extremely hard to beat.

Haaland likely only challenger but I imagine he will go Madrid at some point

  10. very good deal for spurs, losing a 30 year old with one year left for £86m

obviously not good in the short term, and Kane could still reject Bayern in favour of having more options when his contract expires.

Clearly desperate to add some silverware to his cabinet before he gets too old, but if I were him, I’d stay one more season at spurs then see who takers are next  summer.

Madrid could get Mbappe and Kane on free contracts

Audio passes only according to the website - £2.50. No, you don't need a subscription.

Isn’t audio pass only for people watching in the UK?

think I read that video passes should be available to those abroad, but will have to test it on Saturday to see

    cheers

Don't like any of those Home kit designs.

Hooped one would ‘hold’ the sponsor nicely. Striped one is most aesthetically pleasing to me. No idea how that graphic one would actually look from the digital preview

  13. Manager saying they struggled vs Wrexham because they had to have a lot of the ball and Wrexham just sat off them. Apparently Wigan aren’t used to that. And also they lacked aggression (which was a feature of their tactics in their last league one stint)

Sound like Maloney has geared them up to be a counter attacking team this season. Unfortunately that favours them when we play them but we should have more than enough quality to win.

LOL - Knocked out of the Caribou Cup by Wrexham.

hope we get some payback for the last times we played them. 1-1 away at theirs wasn't the revenge I wanted. Prior to that, Delfouneso blazing one over the bar in the cup and losing 4-0 at home to them, we owe them big time.

  15. “I can’t say exactly what we are doing but I can say it is simple for the players to understand and it has been important that we work with them on delivery because that is the most important part of a set play. It is no good working a block, someone free, or someone winning a one-v-one if the ball is put into the wrong space.“

Sounds like he’s taken on board the crowd advice of - “gerrit in the box and beat the first fuckin man”

If I wasn’t on a flight to Alicante I’d revive AVFTOS. Be back for Fleetwood.

    @Mantra, fancy doing the honours?

I’m currently in Amsterdam on a long weekend so unfortunately I’m off duty too but seems like some comments have been picked up here already

I’ve just had a look at ImpsWays

FIVE different threads on front page about their forthcoming game at ToughShit.

As an aside, their chief mod, I guy called Jules, opens up topics which are supposed to stimulate discussion. He then gets folk to write no fewer than 150 words on the given subject, send them to him privately and he then decides whether or not to publish. One or two threads with nothing other than his opening post asking for input. Maybe that’s NOT the way to run a forum.

Pretty sure we mentioned him on the “A view from the other side” thread in previous seasons, pretty scathing about Bolton being cheats iirc, might not have been him but probably was as he sounds like a cunt from your write up
