As Benny said, it’s starting to look like something more personal with someone involved rather than something with the actual deal. Iles and Nixon both saying it’s not for them to announce. if it was a snag in the deal, something to do with sorting the hotel, a legal challenge from Bassini, not having the funding or something like people have speculated over. It’d be in the paper. The only stuff that ‘isn’t for them to announce’ is personal stuff.

The Bassini thing was just my thinking with the way iles said he ‘wasn’t going into the delay’ and there was ‘valid reasons for it’. Imagine he wrote an article that our takeover was delayed due to that clown Bassini again. There’d be uproar, hence him ‘not going into it’ and just hoping the solicitors sort it behind the scenes.

That interview where he mentions he’d love the job was done at least 3 weeks ago. It just only aired yesterday. The reason being, he mentions he’s about to compete in a charity boxing match with John McGinlay at Farnworth Cricket club. That was held on 26th May. So this interview was recorded before then. He could at that point never have known FV were going to be successful. So the ‘day before’ thing is pure coincidence.

I can't see past FV personally. Just for the fact that they've been into it for so long, already have league approval, have MJ on board etc. etc. Plus MJ has his charges on the hotel, so if he's involved its less of a worry for them about tying up the two.

Maybe Bassini just confirmed to Iles he's still in the race but hasn't said anything more. Can't really be breaking NDA then as he hasn't really 'disclosed' anything has he.

It’s typical bwfc Bassini has been suspiciously quiet since spouting on sky which suggests he’s under NDA. He had a moan about challenging the administration of the hotel the other week but never mentioned the club, does he really just want the hotel or was he confident he would get the club anyway. Will the administrators buckle to his ‘legal challenge’ and give it him as the ‘easy option’ ? They sold Coventry back to the original owner after all.
