  1. On what basis? Just because they are in the premier league now and we're not?!
  2. But the NW is the heart and hub of English football, and we are steeped in so much more history than Southampton, and arguably a bigger club too. The only thing Southampton has in it's favour is that it is it's proximity of other clubs... but so do Stoke, no one really within any close radius other than Port Vale and they need taking over.. so shows having no clubs around you doesn't really count for much. The stadium is 21 years old, but still young, its state of the art, and just needs a lick of paint.. the land surrounding the Reebok echoes the Etihad and look what the owners saw in that potential and turned that into (we won't get anything like Sheikh Mansour but the potential of the ground is the same). The academy was one of the best in the country, and arguably still is, it just needs investment... which a new owner can bring, same as the new equipment, a new owner can buy that, its not out of reach with someone with some financial clout like Ulker
  3. We're a much bigger club than the half of the 92 though, and we do have premier league facilities regardless of whether any other clubs do too.. so couple both of them, along with the current asking price, we are a very attractive prospect to any potential buyer compared to other clubs presently. Pay off the debts, get a new manager and invest in the playing squad is pretty much all that needs doing..
  4. The reason he could want Bolton is a mystery, if it even is him, but maybe the current state of us coupled with our already Premier League facilities and infrastructure means means he (or any buyer) could get us at a snippet compared to a premier league or championship club. They wouldn't need to spend astronomical amounts to get us back to the premier league. Currently we are very attractive proposition at a very cheap price compared to other clubs.
  5. Very true on both counts... i'll back off, just a tad enthusiastic about it all.
  6. Yeah & he also owns a basketball club who merged with Fenerbache...
  7. No, i'm Adam Dixon... I don't even know who Alan Nixon is 😉
  8. Fenerbache and UK based could be interpreted as tax domiciled which with his UK assets then it fits.
  9. Sorry, certainly not intending to badger Howard or put him under any pressure... I have enjoyed his insights. Ulker is just a hunch based on what I have seen, read and put together in my own mind... but I could be way off track.
  10. which again means Ulker fits the bill...
  11. Yes, and only he knows his theory for wanting us.. maybe he liked Akin Bulent and Tuncay. Who knows... but all signs point to it being him. We have the stadium, the history and infrastructure... wouldn't take a massive amount to get us back to the Premiership, a dam site less than it would cost him to buy Southampton. Come on H Dogg, confirm or deny?
  12. Yes, at a premium... whereas he could get us at fraction and take us back there!? I see you're not denying it though haha 😉 Just a thought.
  13. Sorry, I don't get you?
  14. "The Ulker family have substantial assets and significant investments already in the UK" News article from when he was interested in Newcastle. Does this make it technically correct he's UK 'based' ?
  15. Ok... can you confirm or deny Ulker? 🙂
  16. But isn't the stake foreign, or is it a domestic club? Can you confirm or deny Ulker?
  17. I'm fairly sure its Ulker, fronted by Kenyon... I mean I haven't been told this by a source or a man in the pub, but all signs point that way. In court, it was mentioned that the buyer has a 'stake in a high level football club' - Ulker owns the naming rights to Fenerbache's stadium, and also owns a basketball club that recently merged with Fenerbache. Nixon states today that the club(s) are foreign, which may be him guessing, but again points to Fenerbache. Also, the buyer uses Walker Morris same as Anderson, and that is exactly who Kenyon/Ulker used to broker the deal at Newcastle... Again, i'm guessing, but all signs point that way...
