Featured Replies

anybody been up there

is it any good and whats the pubs/clubs like

any info please

cheers :D

i had my hen night there, was fantastic night out.

the whole place is full of stag/hen do's, its notorious for it, the doormen etc seem less uptight than here. loads in fancy dress etc, although blokes dont seem to do that. We all went as red indians and cowgirls, the only time the bouncers got crappy was when we started a tomohawk v waterpistols fight in yates. the bouncer confiscated my tomohawk.

you need to book accomodation asap-it gets very busy very quickly.

an absolutely ideal town for a last night of freedom. much better than blackpool!!!!

Spookster, its a crackin place and would be an excellant choice for a stag do. Along with the bars at the quayside you may want to try Buffalo Joe's and Bahia Beach Club (both highly recommended =P~ ). Both of these bars are opposite the quayside on the Gateshead side of the river.

have a good time

I remember when the Quayside was just that - a stretch of wasteground at the side of the river. The only boozers down there were the Baltic and the Redhouse.

Got chased out of the Baltic by a load of Goerdie skinheads - papped myself.

good experience for future cleaning jobs i would suggest.

do not go to the lap dancing bar in newcastle it is ok for a laugh but out of the centre and a pain in the arse to get back into the centre.

also 'when the boat comes in' wears thin with the locals.

I used to work on the Quayside. The pubs in the area then were pretty awful. There was one called the Crown Posada that was shaped like a coffin. There was another bar called the Cooperage. That was OK Monday to Saturday but on Sundays it was a gay pub. The manager got the sack when the owner found out that he had advertised it in Gay Times.

. the bouncer confiscated my tomohawk.

Is that a euphemism for summat :-k :-k

I remember the Cooperage - had a club upstairs

Never went on a Sunday mind.

My mate was at the Poly so we'd all pile up for weekends. We used the start at the Egypt's Cottage, onto the Barley Mow (some old geezer called George used the play the harmonica for beer money), work our way to the Baltic, Redhouse and end up in the Cooperage.

I didn't rate it that much, mind you I wasn't on a stag do.

Had a good drinking sesh and the hotel was nice but I couldn't say I'd recommend it. But its each to there own

:-$

The Office where I worked is now a club. It's right underneath the High Level Bridge.

Iwent last year it was good but stay away from the boat it is really bad everywhere else was good though all the pubs and club s we went in were ok
