Looked into it the other day, it will be available from September, and you get a free wireless router (and I've just ragging bought one)

Decided against it and sticking with Telewest cable simply because I reckon customer service could be awful in the first few months when millions of people claim their free broadband. It's a wicked value package though all in all. I suspect I'll go for it in a few months if all seems well

You need a BT line too as well as Sky subscription

I've weighed in today, installed in a week or so.

??21 per month, full channels plus free sky sports for 6 months and free broadband. ??11 for the phone line, ??5 for unlimited calls. ??37 a month for something which currently costs me nearly ??80 from telewest.

rang telewest to give them last shout and they offered me nowt. tuppence a month off the f??cktard channel and fourpence of all calls to peru.

Registered when they started to advertise free broadband, emailed back to say they will be in touch early august, received an email the other day saying it will be two weeks when they will contact me to actually sign up and get the ball rolling, they seem to be doing a specific area at a time, going to go for the max package with free router,connection,set-up and security for a tenner a month, hopefully will be worth the wait, paying ??20 at the moment for a 512k download speed  also in the last month of existing contract, so the timing could not be better :good: might be able to afford a few more :drinks: thanks to sky

I spoke to sky as I too am trying to get it and they were non commital on a date, they just said not long ( like I'm a kid on a long car journey?!)If you've registered they say they'll contact you as soon as they have a date.

I know I should do it, Telewest usually clocks in at about ??100 a month for me, I could have Sky Plus, Football First and faster broadband than I have now for ??55-??60 a month off Sky. I'm just pissed off that I bought a wireless router for ??50 a week ago!!!

Missus doesn't want a dish on the house either

Just an update, sky have emailed me today and provided me with a phone number and code to order the broadband package, said they will deliver all the equipment in 5 days by parcelforce, but because i already have an isp i need to phone them back when i have a mac code for the transfer of the phone line and then they will send the gear out. :good:

It's differing times for each area though. Which area are you? You don't have to give me your address, just a little pointer! :)

Just to let you know, sky broadband is now installed, got to say it is a good setup and customer service, better than my previous isp which was tesco. one thing that slowed everything down was getting a mac code for the transfer of my isp, not very quick at sending one out. Overall, i got a faster download speed than i was getting(3x), got a netgear wireless router free(saved ??????) and free mcafee for a year and am paying ??10 less than before. very easy to setup- you don`t need the free engineer if you go for max package. well pleased with it. :drinks:

Getting the MAC codes is going to become quicker in the coming months due to new legislation (or something). I'll be moving onto Sky broadband in Feb.

We got the box and everything for it yesterday. But according to BT, we cant switch over to the 15th??
