August 18, 200619 yr http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/sto...1853452,00.html bit strong......think he must be a contributor on here with that attitude This guy has history of being negative about us, as has the paper. I can't be bothered looking for the actual item but I remember it was factually incorrect too. I did actually, against my better judgement, write a letter of complaint via email a couple of years ago. And heard nothing. How rude! The Guardian is well known for it's factual errors along with spelling mistakes ( see Private Eye editions no. 1 to present for any examples)
August 18, 200619 yr All he stopped short of saying is that 3 or 4 more injuries and we maight not be putting a team out. Well written and frankly quite scary.

Yep totally agree start of the season and we are in a mess. If we get injuries to Nolan, Stelios and or Diouf its hard to see where the goals are coming from.
August 18, 200619 yr Not a great article really; based upon personal opinion and he obviously has it in for us.

And if Arsenal get injuries to Henry, Van Persie and Adebayor? That goes for most teams, particularly outside the top four
August 18, 200619 yr And if Arsenal get injuries to Henry, Van Persie and Adebayor? That goes for most teams, particularly outside the top four Got to disagree. I can't be arsed looking, but I would bet that bar the promoted teams (who may save the day for us) other squads have more strength in depth. Christ - look at out team photo!
August 18, 200619 yr On the Arsenal front I would have thought Rosicky, Freddie, Hleb, Fabregas and Reyes if he is still there are more than capable of a few goals. Edited August 18, 200619 yr by stinkythefrog
August 18, 200619 yr The upshot is that with the imminent departure of the half-decent Jared Borgetti, Bolton's frontline consists of barrel-chested nuisance Kevin Davies, plodsome-forward-cum-confused-leftback Henrik Pedersen, gravity-challenged waif Ricardo Vaz Te and problem child El-hadji Diouf. I love it. And he's not wrong.
August 18, 200619 yr Actually, on the whole The Guardian is pretty positive about us. I think he makes some good points, I mean who can honestly hold their hand up and say they think we're going to have a good start to the season. In Sam I do trust, but he'd better have something pretty special up his sleeve. I can't see us getting anything better than a draw tomorrow.
August 18, 200619 yr Actually, on the whole The Guardian is pretty positive about us. Depends on the individual author entirely with them - they've published some of the most positive and negative peices I've encountered in the past 2-3 years. However, Doyle is a f??ckwit who has it in for us and our style. I've e-mailed him asking if he'd like a bet on where Bolton finish at the end of the season. I look forward to seeing if he'll put his money where his mouth is.

And he's not wrong. He's not wrong but what he fails to say is that it that front line that got us to 8th last year. Except that Diouf missed about half the season, as did Pederson and that this year Vaz Te is a year older and more experienced. Its not the best front line in the prem but its not a disaster either. Especially when you add Nolan and Stelios to the list.
