I was looking for something else when I stumbled across this -

Seagraves, who began his playing career with Jewell in Liverpool's reserve team, has been working as a coach at League One side Blackpool.

Seagraves was brought to Burnden Park just after the 1990-91 season was underway as Wanderers manager Phil Neal attempted to replace the ageing Dean Crombie at centre half. "Ziggy" as he was known by teammates helped the Wanderers from Division 3 football to the Premiership in just five years.

Absolutely correct on both accounts!

It was whilst I was looking up the last time we played Mansfield that I noticed that 'Ziggy' had scored which in turn led me to thinking where he was these days!

The link below is to the BBC report on the Grand National 'shambles' -

There is a 2 page article on Mark Seagraves in this seasons programme at home to Wigan, with a photo of his goal against Liverpool in the cup.

To this day i still blame our FA Cup exit at Derby on Mark Seagraves being unavailable and his place being taken by Jason Lydiate.
