Head for the Old Town and you can't go wrong.

I stopped at the Hotel Riga which has Dolls lap dancing club attached to it. At the time it was supposed to be an ok place to go. I've since heard its become another of the rip off merchants. Have a look on www.tripadvisor.co.uk to find the best/safest clubs to go to.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the old town, all down hill. I think the Voodoo club is in the basement of that hotel.

 

You'll pass the Soviet monument on your way. Try not to piss on it like 1 English lad did. I think he got 3 months in prison.

 

I also recommend going to the Occupation museum near the river. Very interesting place. The Latvians were subjected to the Nazis and the Ruskies taking over their country. Well worth going to if you fancy having a hour or 2 off the ale. It's also free.

 

Only use red taxis as the white ones rip you off. 3 times more expensive than the red uns.
