Has there ever been a more unpopular choice for Bolton manager than Megson?

I know he's defo not signed yet, but PG seems to think he's the boke to relegate ussort us out...............yet absolutely nobody else does, I've had MASSIVE fans laughing at me all week over this now.

Ho hum

Can't think of a proposed new manager who was so not wanted in the past.

But then, in the old days (pre-Prem), there wasn't all this multi-media obsessiveness.

WERE ABOUT TO BECOME THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE NEVER MIND THE PREM

Stan Anderson wasn't popular, nor was Roy McFarland, but as has been said, there wasn't the media circus then, at the end of the day, I. and I suspect most people on here support BWFC (the club in it's entirety), it's just unfortunate that within the club there are some things we don't like, but you get on with it..

Oh boy, and haven't we been through some "unfortunates" in the past 40 years !! Makes your eyes water just to remember some of 'em.

Not Bolton but when Southampton appointed Strachan think it was very unpopular at the time.

He'd just relegated Coventry after they'd spent over 30 years in the top flight.

He'd had a wretched start to the old 2nd Div and was sacked soon after.

Southampton sacked Stuart Gray as they were well in relegation trouble. Strachan ended up turning them round as they finished 11th.

Ended up getting them to a cup final and had moderate success with midtable league finishes.

Perhaps Megson can do this for us?

Just to play devils advocate, maybe a hungry manager whose never really had the chance to have decent players available to him, would do better than an accomplished manager who is relying on past glories.

If you got promoted to your dream job you'd give it 110%.

He's not my first choice but he'll do a better job than Souness, Coleman, Bruce and Dowie.

If he gets the job we need to give Megson and the team our full support or we really are doomed.
