New Racecourse

One for you racing fans! Not sure if you are aware of this story? but I have been following it for some time now as the proposed new racecourse will be sited just 2 miles from my house. Lord Zetland who owns Redcar racecourse and a consortium put forward the plans about 18 months ago to build Britains first super racecourse at a site between Hyndburn and the Ribble valley, and I hear from a good source who works for the council that it will be given planning permission. This will be good news for racing fans and good for the prosperity for the area if it goes ahead.

I'll look forward to that, Haydock's alright but would be nice to have another one localish.

I hope the catering side of it is better than Redcar though. Was at a wedding there on Saturday and the food was undercooked and they only had Becks and Boddington on draught and limited spirits.

Of course it will be.

Were their not plans to build one in Worsley as well?

We could end up spoilt for choice.

There was a proposal to build one in Salford recently, but that looks dead in the water now.
