Not the shit film with gerbil-molester Gere, the 'cider' made by Carlsberg...
They're doing 4x440ml for £2.49 at the shop near Bolton Hospital, anyhow, has anyone else tried it?
It tastes like fizzy apple juice, there's absolutely no 'bite' to it whatsoever, it's not that sweet either...
You could give it to someone as Appletize or a sparkling (non-alcoholic) apple drink and they wouldn't bat an eyelid, yet it's apparently 4.5% and I have to admit I can feel the (slight) effect of two cans of it...
What is it? apple juice with a shot of ethanol in it?
And why are all the beer brands getting in on the cider game? I know it's taxed at a considerably less rate, but there must be sommat else, is the price of sugar/malt/hops etc. going up?
Or are they weening the new crop of soft, mollycoddled kids on pop-like drink instead of proper training booze like Helden Brau, Gold Label or Royal Dutch?
