Looking back at old films, everybody spoke in an upper class english accent, and even today they think we all speak like that.

Have to admit that it did happen to me once. Mind you, the young lady in question worked for the same company as me and knew that this was where I had flown from.

 

It was at the height of Aussie appreciation over there and the women seemed to get moist at the very suggestion. For a fleeting moment, the possibility of answering in the affirmative did cross my mind but sanity prevailed and anglophilia steered my response.
