  1. Was there a wanderers flag there? showed a guy talking to a steward/copper just in throws of taking it down so couldn't quite tell, just as the England were going through their final death rattle!

Abysmal, but I got man crush on Mark Wood, even the Aussies like him.

And on reflection Stokes should have had a bit more time off. Poor series

Yep. Not much use in winning free kicks neither, for obvious reasons.

Teams would be less inclined to kick him too if we had a Beevers or Wheater type getting double figures a season. (Think I may have nicked this of another poster who made similar statement at some point)

So God knows why he lets the corners and free kick stuff just fester, when clearly a threat from them may potentially allow us to play more easily the intricate football he wants.

My view is we are in a consolidation season.  Last season we excelled in the last 20 games and got promoted with L2 and non-league players.  This season we have L2 and L1 level so need to try finish mid-table and build on that next season.  At the start of the season I said I’d be happy with mid-table and nothing’s changed, it’s on and off the pitch that has to tally and being sustainable to meet FFP so we don’t end up in the shit again.

I’m happy with everything as it is for the time being, yes we’ve got a nice ground, but some folk need a reality check on how long the journeys going to take, a nice ground doesn’t mean your better than the opposition on the day.

That's all very well and admirable, and most would agree with the sentiment but we need to see progression.

The same things we were bad at last year we are still bad at, with no signs of improvement and spin it how you want that is a worry.

I didn’t think Wycombe looked a good side. Workmanlike & experts in shithousery maybe, but football wise i thought they were fairly mediocre.

'Do just enough' was how commentator described it, a great trait to have as opposed to whatever we 'do'?

He’s the second highest goal scorer you minge

Might help if Santos could be arsed to mark him then eh!

Why the fuck can they let Smith win so many headers and who is getting skinned for all these crosses?

Well that one he was with Santos, all the play in front of him, he just ambled back into box and did fuck all except whinge at Aimson after the goal, awful defending by Santos and awful example for a captain

  7. I have never understand why a selling club wants add-ons for a players future performance, i.e. goals scored/promotions etc. Why would you take the risk? Just ask for the value you want.

I don't mean future sell on clauses, just to be clear, that's self explanatory

    and English commentators

Erm!? Ultimately the players are not good enough but clearly more is going on than that.

Annoyingly I am not sure Australia are that good, but unless we put them under some pressure we'll never know.

    Absolute dog shit again.

Another sub-300 score, another collapse. One decent partnership, but 150-2 to 220-9 is piss poor.

5-0 written all over it, unless weather intervenes.

    It is fuckin awful

  10. Not an F1 fan really, so apologies for the naive questions, but,

Once Hamilton and Max  were back behind each other, what difference did it make is some other cars hadn't gone past?? had no impact as far as I could see over the one lap.

Surely the bigger issue is not giving Hamilton his 13s lead back once the safety car came out, I take it that's not a thing?? So the leader must always be shafted following an accident??

Good post.  But on the intensity, I'm genuinely struggling to recall games last season when I thought we were playing with real intensity.  Good defending yes for all those 1-0 wins.  A few decent performances and some superb (Scunthorpe, Cambridge at home, Bradford away) but I didn't feel intensity in those hard slog matches in the last 3 months eg Southend, Port Vale, Grimsby, Forest Green, Salford, Morecambe away.  Home v Carlisle, Barrow, Walsall, Harrogate, Colchester, Exeter.  Every one of those games were tough to watch and could have gone either way.  Thankfully in many of those games we did just enough and no more, this season its the same but the opposition are getting the odd goal instead of us, certainly away from home.  The idea that IEs teams play with intensity is lost on me, its slow and laboured much of the time.

JR, you're absolutely spot on with everything you say.

And this is why I don't understand the total acceptance from some that Evatt plays some superior brand of football, he must have had 70ish games in charge now and we played amazingly well in a fraction.

We need a cunt in midfield.

We need a leader at the back.

We need a player upfront who can score or bring others into the game.

    Christmas shopping list for Sharon.

Agreed, but annoyingly this isn't new, we should have had a similar list in the summer!?

Dapo’s run and through ball at 40s is unreal especially the pass leaving Doyle 1 on 1. Then what, Doyle gets the ball stuck under his feet, ends up on his weaker foot and the best chance has gone. Doyle is a total liability and has cost us so many points this season. His other chance, that volley, was just embarrassing really.

Not really sure DJ could have done much else with the rebound as it was one of them  where he’s waiting for it to come down giving the keeper time to get across and make a great save.

Looked to me that their lad got a lucky deflection for the goal, plus he was left free by the defence,  I'm not blaming Dixon for that

I agree, just allowed to punt a ball into our box, MJ no challenge at all, skidded through to the guy who scored again with no challenge. Bit harsh to load all that on Dixon.

That’s going to be a long wait then there are some long term ones in there .
There is plenty out there to put a decent performance out  on the field far more experience than accy and Fleetwood had we’re not having to field a team of kids because of injuries .

He also signed 10 of the 11 out there playing today and remember him saying they looked at the character of any player and not just ability  when they looked at recruits

Far too much sense and logic for some on here to comprehend in that post!

We need to do something different either tactually or with numbers  the midfield is crap

I am not buying into wait till January we are being feed it feels like smoke and mirrors at the minute. There should be enough out there to put out a better performance

And if that better performance is making us hard to beat then so be it, but would Evatt ever admit he's wrong?
