Is my investment protected by a compensation scheme?

No. An investment in the Wanderers Bond is not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or any other such scheme or service, including the Financial Ombudsman Service. All obligations arising out of or in connection with the Wanderers Bond will be the sole responsibility of the Issuer. If the Issuer goes out of business or becomes insolvent, you may lose some or all of your investment in the Wanderers Bond.

If Bolton go bust, you’re not covered. I was answering the question of

    ”What if Tifosy go bust”

Then I think you are covered by the fscs. Unless others know different.

    what if tifosy go bang?

It’s possible they could go bust, They’re covered or rather investors are covered by the fscs (Financial services compensation scheme) by investing with Tifosy.

I would think it’ll be a royal pain in the ass attempting to get your cash back through the fscs. But there’s risk in most investment really, Northern Rock back in 2008, Royal bank of Scotland had to be bailed out by the Govt. The recent turmoil of USA banks etc.

  3. Bolton have played in the top flight in every decade since 1888. They scraped playing in the top flight in 1980’s by playing and getting relegated in May that year.

Will the 2020’s be the decade we don’t keep that record up.

  4. I would think they’re ripping the existing out. When the stadium opened we used to have a big screen, then for whatever reason they replaced with the current small screen. Fuck knows why?

One thing that surprised on his video update. We have a 1000 people on match days using the corporate suites and boxes. We really are getting our act together.

I don't understand where the 8.5% interest payout comes from. Can anyone explain?

I don’t have inside knowledge but I think borrowing money from supporters is preferable to borrowing money with sky high interest rates from finance Companies. Which involves penalty clauses as well for late payments.

NH has said they’ll use some of the money to invest in the playing squad, with the hope of promotion which will mean a lot more income, if it happens. He’s also said on the video, they’ll spend it on advertising in the middle ribbon, so I assume between the upper and lower tiers, so more income.

Also, they’re updating the corporate suites, to keep existing customers happy but attract new business and grow that side of the revenue stream.

if all that isn’t the success they think it’ll be, then the directors will take it on the chin and pay up, I’d expect.

  6. Before 2019 I would have been content for Wigan to drop to league 2/non league, back to where they belong.
But those c*nts who rocked up at out ground for a photo op, gloating at our possible demise was beyond the pale. So out of order. There’s just no coming back from that, for me, so Wigan disbanded is what I want.

  7. I want them eradicated from this planet. The club folds, the stadium and car park demolished and houses built on it, so there’s no trace of any kind that football was ever played there. The only reference will be in football history books.

I remember it because I was watching the World of Sport and Dickie Davies announced it on live TV that there'd been a fatality at the game.  Very sad.

Same here, I think they locked the fans in the ground iirc.

Don't think we have stooped to their level as Don't remember anyone going to their shithole and gloating like a virgin that's just broke their cherry but fuck em,hope they go pop

I couldn’t have put it any better. 👍

  10. I suppose the board are paying 8.5% as opposed to higher interest rates with built in penalty clauses if they borrowed from finance companies. It really boils down to do you trust Sharon/James/Luckock to pay your initial deposit backi in 5 years time.  The interest is paid annually.

Runninh off at halftime gives that slight mental edge to let the opposition know that we aren’t tired, they’ve not worked us and they’re in for a tough second half. I love it

Makes sense and I love it too.
