Nothing is as shocking as mushy peas on a Xmas dinner though.
Does this need its own thread or are we raking over old ground?
AND, mate yer going back at least 2-3 years here as i can remember exactly where i was working when i was almost reduced to a nervous wreck by an innocent throw away remark on festive fare.🥴

I feel a bit nauseous bringing it up
but
@Whitestar Xmas is just around the corner, will you be ordering your Xmas dinner directly from Satan’s kitchen?
Too right mate!
The Bachelors (not quick soak) were down to 50p in tezzie all summer and a good supply was purchased, however i noticed they are up to 70p this week.
They'll be profiteering for the Christmas season.

We should all show selfies of ourselves with famous people. It’ll make this place more ‘human’
I was with David Gower last night but didn’t do it. Maybe next time.👍
I once bought some cheese from Martin Platt of Coronation st, got a pic but CBA looking for it.

Mate of mine walked home to Howrich from MCR city centre one night, don't know which way he went but it took him 5-6 hrs.
-
What time he due to arrive?
Looked to be leaving Stretford very early this morning so i reckon early afternoon??.

Yes, the early Cavalier sri was well ahead of the rest of the mainstream cars of the time, recaro seats too.

Deloreans
Were these affordable to 18year olds in the early 80s?
-
LOL, see that's exactly the point.
When i was old enough to drive these cars I'd always loved and had the money to get them I'd lost interest.
Circa 83 one weekend i set out to purchase either a 2.8i Capri or a RS2000 escort.
The Capri's were plentiful, the RS,s were were a lot harder to track down but once I'd seen and looked at both they seemed SO basic and old fashioned.

Just been looking at some old cars on YouTube and it got me thinking that when i was a young lad i was car mad and loved and hated certain models just by the look of them, I'd obviously never driven them or read reviews on them as you would today.
As i got old enough to drive and even afford to probably buy the types of cars I'd always liked it never happened, and these were realistic purchases not super cars, so thought I'd mention a few i thought were stunning in the 70s.
Datsun 240/260z
Triumph Stag
Ford Corsair 2000E
Fiat supamirafiuri TC
Capri JPS edition
Alfa GTV6
Opal manta gte, anyone actually had one of these beauties? As by 82 they would all have been very affordable if not old bangers?.

If he wants easier drinking I’d suggest an Irish single malt whiskey; Bushmills is one of the better ones.. If he prefers Scotch then something like a McCallan 12 year old single malt whisky.
Yeah Irish might be a good shout as I've heard him mumble something about irish shite before 👍
-
My mates 60th coming up this month, i wanna get him a decent drop, he likes Bourbon or a nice single malt but nothing too peaty.
Can't even stand the smell myself never mind the taste, he reckons its an acquired taste, i think f*** that.
Anyway any experts recommend a good one that he's maybe not tried?
The brief is decent quality, not peaty!!.

And it was Bruce Rioch that signed Denis Bergkamp!!!

Also think all this alleged baggage around IE might put a higher profile club off.
You're probably right but i wouldn't think of Bristol City as higher profile than BWFC.
I'm only thinking back as far as Jimmy Armfield but have we ever had a manager that has (long term) gone on to bigger and better things?
Maybe Phil Neil did ok medium term.🤔

Had he tried that thing Ian Botham swears by?

SO, does cold weather kill these things or what ?
26% battery Friday afternoon. 3% this morning.
Is this the future?
-
Yeah, a few had him on the list for this year.

Watched an interview with Eric Cantona this morning on tv, apparently he's got an album coming out , " singing".
Ok he doesn't take his self too seriously and i think he only speaks the queens when it suits him but come on???
Are people SO gullible?
Mind you, i did titter.

Used to work just around the corner from Kings cross station around that time.
There was a great old style Wimpy cafe across the rd on York way or york rd can't remember, but loads of prostitutes used to hang out there all the time, it was like running the gauntlet to get to the underground without being asked if you want business.
