You last won the league in 58, that's like Botlon fans bringing up the FA cup, it means nothing now. Blackburn winning the league in the 90s means nothing now. Most fans werent even alive when Preston or Bolton won anything..

TV money is the big driver but crowds will be important to any investor. Plus the overall fan base for things like shirt sales etc. That said I do hate all this big club small club crap as its used as a stick to beat clubs by some idiots.

If the club can get back to the crowds we had in the prem under new owner, them we'd be doing ok. Look at Bournemouth, reasonably welathy owner, doing well and only get 11k a week so we don't exactly have a small attendance all considered.

Bolton would need to inspire the younger generation. By winning and more reaching out. There are far too many United and Liverpool etc fans around the Bolton area. How many kids have been turned off watching Bolton recently for instance?

I think you are absolutely right. That's pretty cool that their owner would spend the time to have a chat with an opposition fan. I was at that game, it was horrible to watch them destroy us and barely get out of second gear. As you said we have a lot going for is if we manage to keep hold of it all. Great stadium and infrastructure. Plus we've got some pretty decent and recent history with some big names in football from all around the world playing for us, Djorkaef, Okocha, Hierro, Nakata etc. It'd be great to see us bloodying the nose of some of the Billy Big Bollocks clubs, especially the London ones.
