  1. Brian Mooney. He was a twat and I hated Preston.

Don't claim to be most diehard fan. Just under 200 games is hardly shite though.

I binned my season ticket because of Megson. Didn't know we were having large did we?
  4. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
Megson generated a £1.5 million profit on transfers.

https://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/pages/sports-business-group/articles/annual-review-of-football-finance.html Huddersfield got promoted with a wage bill of £22 million, which was 15th highest in championship. Pay for the report. You can read all this stuff. I'm not making it up. Footballers wages are bankrupting the clubs. Ffs even Bury have 3 players on £6,000 a week. That's from a previous FD there.

I think they don't know what it means. Think it's just like administration and just lose a few points.
  7. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
Yes that's very true. I should imagine those players weren't all free to start with so had a cost. It's not transparent and not easy to work out. Also transfer fees aren't paid in full it's all on the drip so that makes a difference and even more difficult to figure out. Just all together highlights the huge gap in finances.
  8. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
And that's ignoring the fact that Burnley have spent over £75 million on players in less than 2 seasons.
  9. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
West Brom got £94 million. Burnley got about £115. That's nowt to do with it though. They're still getting their gate receipts and other income on top of this. The £200 million would be needed as a minimum figure to get to premier league. Chucking £200 million in over 3 years just means we're at least a further £150 million behind Burnley if they're not relegated. We'll not get back in the premier league, just have to deal with it.
  10. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
That works. There's 112,000 people in employment in Bolton. The average wage in Bolton is £26,100. 112,000 x 26100 x 0.1 = £292,320,000. That's it problem solved. The "living in Bolton, having a job and supporting the Wanderers tax". Get that on the council tax. Hoppy's a genius 🙂

And just because I am bored at lunch time..... Let's assume Bassini buys us, pays the debts, is as good as his word and gets us into the Premier League. To do that, he'll need to pay for: Our current debts at £35 million (still don't really know what these are but this is likely the maximum value of secured debt we can have) Fund ongoing losses next season and get us out of league 1 - say another £10 million on wages with free transfers and loan signings and absolutely no transfer fees. Fund promotion to Premier League from Championship. Probably need to spend absolute minimum £30 million on players, £50 million wage bill. Assuming we gets lots of top players on loan from Premier league teams and we pay their wages, This is bargain basement stuff we'd need an amazing manager to achieve this on these amounts in 1 year, it's less than Fulham spent Fund new signings for Premier league of at least another £30 million, on top of all the other wages assuming we keep all the loanees, plus another £50 million in wages. This is bargain basement stuff, less than Fulham spent on deadline day That's over £200 million How's he got that when he couldn't pay his fucking rent. This whole situation is a farce, anyone who believes someone is going to fund these costs is living in cloud cuckoo land

Here's some more, simple maths: Unibol Max capacity = 28,723 23 league games + 3 cup matches = 26 Ticket price £50 28,723 x 26 x 50 = 37,339,900 So that's £37,339,000 if we sell out every game, with no season ticket holders, and every fan pays £50 per game. West Brom will receive about £45 million from the premier league this season. So even if they close their ground to fans, and get no money whatsoever from gate receipts, their income would still be higher than ours, even in the ludicrous picture I paint above.

No. You can't just transfer money like that. You can loan it, move it around between companies in the same group. To factor it you've got to get someone to buy that debt, so it would have to be secured against something, have some type of repayment vehicle. So possible, but not as easy as people on here are making it out to be. And loaning money out of a loss making business to loan it back via another business in which you're the sole director? - I'm an Economics bod knowledge of this is beyond my remit - any proper accountants on here want to comment on that process?????

FFS can't people have a look at the accounts. Our total income from gate receipts is about £3 million. Average wage in championship is £360,000. If we have 20 players that gives us a wage bill of £7.2 million. Our wage bill is actually about £9.5 million. We've lost a fortune before we've kicked a ball. And need income from other sources to break even. Problem is Burnden leisure has effectively collapsed and the whole group is loss making. Our wage bill is one of the smallest in the championship, possibly the smallest. Derby's is £44 million. Last time Wigan were promoted from league 1 their wage bill was £8.6 million. Bury's was £4.5 million when they were relegated from league 1 last season. All football clubs make a loss. Oxford United published their accounts last week. They lost £2,024,283 on a turnover of £5,589,591. The whole EFL is fucked. Every club loses money and needs a sugar daddy to fund it. Like every other club we can only continue if someone buys us to fund these losses. That' Ken says we have a buyer is the only reason we can get an adjournment on all these winding up petitions. But there's allegedly 13 clubs in the championship up for sale so anyone with the money is spoiled for choice.
  15. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
You can't do it this way. EFL will only pay money to the club. Same for transfers, that money is paid to/received from FA so it can't have gone direct to inner circle.

Said some of this about 200 pages back. The hotel paid the football clubs wages in February. Believe other payments made by hotel on behalf of club in addition to what is owed in the accounts. If the hotel is put into administration, the administrator will seek to recover monies owed by the club. The club can't afford to pay that back unless someone puts more money in, because if it had money it would have paid the February wages and not the hotel. This Wednesday is potentially the key day for the club. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/3233667 Rumour is debt to MCLCreate is 6 figures. If anyone else jumps on the winder, the debt will increase. Although we don't know how much/if that will happen until the day. a 6 figure debt (let's just say £100,000) is a small debt for a business the size of the hotel though, so I would expect some type of agreement to be made and this to be dismissed or adjourned. Guess it depends if there is any chance of a deal and any money the all in the pot, as we don't know and are just guessing. Chances now are the hotel will be fine, and use evidence as a takeover same as the club did for an adjournment.

All EFL clubs (bar the odd one) lose money. You need someone on an ego trip to fund the losses. Ken doesn't have the money to fund us. He's strung it out for as long as he can and now we need someone with more money. If you get 14,000 people paying £30 a game 23 games a season, you can't pay players £30k a week. If you're outside the premier league you're fucked.
  18. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
FFS Alf Ramsey couldn't have kept this team up. Anderson is the one at fault. The success or failure if a club is a function of it's wage bill. It's that simple.
  19. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
Don't agree but I totally see where you're coming from though. I'd say they're players no one else wants and we've got the players who will play for the wages we pay. Sows ear silk purse etc We weren't complaining when he got us out of league 1 on a shoestring. Personally I think the football is shite, but given the financial side, I reckon we don't know the half of it. I think he's handled the non football stuff with real dignity.
  20. irvtheswerv replied to Kane57's topic in Terrace Talk
We've got a squad of loan signings and freebies. Whatever the style of play we'd go down. Derby's wage bill is £44 million a season. Ours is £9.5 million and wouldn't even be the biggest in league 1.
  21. Rammy Utd at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium. Get a pint afterwards in the cricket club, lovely stuff.
