Casino Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 i presume youve got up to date virus protection? if not, go to grisoft.com and download and run the free version of agv Quote
Apathy Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 If it's Internet Explorer that you are using then try this. Click on tools/internet options/connections and then Lan Settings and make sure that the proxy server box is unticked. What homepage are you getting displayed ? Are you using a different web browser or a different PC on the same internet connection to get on this site ? Quote
Guest ps Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 using a differant pc with the same internet connection to get online, Lan settings are correct, should i remove internet explorer and re-install or would i have to remove the full windows package and start again Quote
Apathy Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Don't try and remove Internet Explorer as its integral to Windows and might cause you even more problems. If you have more than one PC does that mean you are using a Router to connect them both at the same time ? Try typing in this IP address instead of a web address 66.102.11.104 you should get Googles web site. If you do then something is wrong with the DNS on that PC. If that doesn't work then bring up a DOS window. (click Start, choose Run and then type command and then click OK) in the DOS window type ping 66.102.11.104 if you get a reply then you have an internet connection. Quote
Guest ps Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 did the ip address and nothing page stays the same, locked on freeserve broadband home page now since downloaded service pack 2 yesterday, went into DOS inserted ping ip address and got a ping back, therefore connected to internet but page display seems locked! Guest Shunky_Mun_Kano Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Try: tools internet connections connections LAN settings if any of the boxes are checked, uncheck 'em. Quote
