had the pleasure of taking a few trips on fernys buses,my first was ipswich away on sunday afternoon,i think i was about 17 at the time, and was by far the youngest on board.to be honest i was quite nervous at first, sat at the back thinking who am i to be on here? a little nieve youngster sat with blokes that had been there and done it all? seeing this ferny just offerd me a bottle of stella saying 'your a bit quiet blackool'...my mind was at ease.

you will struggle to find a more commited football fan anywhere in the world.

true legend.never to be forgotten

r.i.p fella.

Like a few who have already posted on this - I have never had the pleasure of meeting Ferney. And forgive me if I go on a Stella provoked rant - but, despite any animosity in the terraces and pisstaking on this site, it is heartwarming to see fans show how much they care about a fellow fan. I am definately a JCL - but it is sentiments like these that make me happy (and proud) to be a follower of Bolton and football.

I only met him once. He came across to me as a very good bloke and I would imagine he would have been an excellent friend and companion.
