hughmungus Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I remember walking through the cows field near to Cambridge Utd 4 yrs ago on a hot pre season day talking about the good old days, sadly missed and a top man RIP Ferny
gonzo Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 had the pleasure of taking a few trips on fernys buses,my first was ipswich away on sunday afternoon,i think i was about 17 at the time, and was by far the youngest on board.to be honest i was quite nervous at first, sat at the back thinking who am i to be on here? a little nieve youngster sat with blokes that had been there and done it all? seeing this ferny just offerd me a bottle of stella saying 'your a bit quiet blackool'...my mind was at ease. you will struggle to find a more commited football fan anywhere in the world. true legend.never to be forgotten r.i.p fella.
Guest squidgy66 Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Like a few who have already posted on this - I have never had the pleasure of meeting Ferney. And forgive me if I go on a Stella provoked rant - but, despite any animosity in the terraces and pisstaking on this site, it is heartwarming to see fans show how much they care about a fellow fan. I am definately a JCL - but it is sentiments like these that make me happy (and proud) to be a follower of Bolton and football. RIP Ferney
twiggy Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 nothing more than than a true gent and the passion he had for bwfc & england was second to none. R.I.P. pal. there is only one 9/11 in my mind, for MR (BWFC) FERNY. you'll always be remembered pal. x x
