Alright lads, im not on here to cause trouble, I am a toon fan who is interested in your views on the allardyce/newcastle link. i have a lot of respect for bolton and their fans, and what they have achieved over the past couple of years, given the budget etc available. you have certainly had a better couple of years than we have which is embarassing given the amount of money we have spent. thats what happens though when you appoint a shite manager!

 

there has been specualtion over the last few days that we are ready to sack spooness (thank god) and move for sam. the ''proper'' papers if you like (times and guardian) have been reporting that we want him, and he would be prepared to come to newcastle, as would sammy lee.

 

i would love big sam, and i think the chance to work with the likes of owen will be very tempting for him, plus the fact that he will have cash to spend here, and we would put him on a big wage.

 

he will know that the only way is to take newcastle up, with some of the players we have the faciclities and the cash, and maybe, in a sense, the only way he can now take bolton is down, or at least he may feel that he has hit a ceiling, becasue of financial restrictions etc.

 

gartsides comments have also indicated that we have registered our interest in sam, and there havnt been any quotes from sam or gartside to say that he is happy at bolton and wont leave. all we have heard so far is that sam 'accepts' gartsides stance and that sam 'doesnt want to comment on another mans job' (far from a denial).

 

personally, i think if it was the end of the season, we would get him no doubt, but im not so sure about at the moment, being mid season and all.

Those were the 2 clubs that I was thinking of when I posted. They are both potentially looking for new management over the coming seasons. Whiskey face is getting past his sell by date and Raffa has never really cut it at Anfield. I would hate to seem him go to united as I would then find myself liking something about the Munich bastards.

Not consistent enough for a team of their calibre. Fair enough they won the Champions League last year, but their performance has been hit and miss for a long time. They'll struggle for the 4th spot in coming seasons when they should be challenging for the title

i, personally think the bloke is clever enough to change his tactics to suit different types of teams/players.
