Jesus!

Bet you're impressed with your ??14m defensive pairing, then.

if you dont laugh, you will cry mate.

they are a joke, bramble is without doubt the worst defender in the league.

boumsong was quality last season, but his confidence seems to be shot to shit for some reason, no way on gods earth was he worth ??8m, seems like an old pals act with souey and gers to me.

young taylor is our best defender but he is out for the season, so we are stuck with these two muppets until the end of the season.

thank god we have shay given!!

your two centre halves look solid, and i bet they only cost a combined ??1m or so, its laughable really

Bruno cost ??500,000

Tal Ben Haim was ??150,000

Taylor was funny on MOTD, when he handballed it in the area and then rolled over like he'd been shot =D> =D> =D>

Bramble - shocking player :D

PB

One nation under a groove

Bruno cost ??500,000

Tal Ben Haim was ??150,000

it just shows what a cracking manager/coach can do for you.

hence why i would love big sam at the toon!!

6 million on Parker!! and i thought Ambrose was only on loan at Charlton.

Parker is quality in my book...

no, ambrose has signed (i wish he was on loan, he is a good player him, remember his goal at the reebok?), i think you might be getting confused with milner who is on loan at villa??

and ??6m was a steal for parker, who has been outstanding all season, he is a class player parker

Parker is quality in my book...

=D>

Parker is quality has everything!!! A certainty for the world cup squad if he is fit. My mistake with Ambrose sorry, i do remember his brilliant goal against us it nearly burst through the net!!! What is happeneing with Robbie Elliot?? Is he injured?? We are short on left footed players i really liked him when we had him sadly he was unlucky with injuries.

Parker or Faye? (Our version not the useless one the Geordies have).

No contest.

parker is a very very good player...

would walk into our team, in fact could get in any team in the league (except chelsea)

robbie elliott is finsihed, he is in no way a prem player anymore

Doesn't Parker live on Bourneville Boulevard?

I think he's great when he turns into Spiderman.

Thats a pitty about Elliot. Injuries ruined his career like so many players. Although i say ruined, he still had a good career i was so excited when we signed him from Newcastle in 97 because i always liked him before he came to us. Then he broke his leg in our first home game of the season. I sippose on the upside we wouldn't have brought Mike Whitlow back otherwise!!!!!

I've heard he gives Lady Penelope a great ride.

from our local rag today. doesnt look ike we are after big sam after all, mores the pity!

Hiddink: Count me out United Jan 11 2006

By Alan Oliver, The Evening Chronicle

Top Dutch manager Guus Hiddink has made it clear that he is not interested in the St James' Park hot seat.

Hiddink and German Otto Hitzfeld are the two foreign managers whose names keep cropping up among the Newcastle United supporters should Graeme Souness leave his post.

Indeed, many United fans who know all about the European scene insist that Hiddink would be an ideal choice as the next manager at St James' Park.

Hiddink is aware of this - but the man who has taken PSV Eindhoven into the next stage of the Champions League, and Australia to the World Cup finals, has said that he would not be interested in coming to Tyneside because all his ambitions now lie on the international front.

I must stress that there has been no contact from Freddy Shepherd with Hiddink or anyone else for that matter regarding the managerial situation at St James' Park.

And certainly Shepherd must be a trifle bemused at his Bolton Wanderers' counterpart Phil Gartside, who keeps warning him off Reebok boss Sam Allardyce.

Shepherd has not approached Gartside for Allardyce - or any other chairman for their manager for that matter - but Big Sam's name just won't go away in relation to the Newcastle hot seat.

Souness had a bonding lunch with his players in tranquil Jesmond Dene yesterday but he could have been excused if it felt like the last supper.

On Saturday two of our leading national broadsheet papers not only had Souness sacked but said Allardyce would be installed as the new United boss by yesterday.

That has failed to materialise - but today Gartside was still being quoted as saying: "I have already decided that if Freddy Shepherd wanted to talk to Sam about the Newcastle job he would be denied permission."

First of all, Shepherd does not want to talk to Gartside about Allardyce, although I understand that Big Sam has a clause in his contract which does allow him to talk to other clubs in certain circumstances.

Headlines in the national papers screamed "One foot in the grave" and "Two seconds from the sack" regarding Souness after the draw with Middlesbrough.

But since the dust has settled on the "Wigan Reserves" debacle in the Carling Cup, the Chronicle has always insisted that Shepherd had no intention of making a managerial change at this moment in time for several reasons.

One of those reasons is the fact that he would have to pay the Scot alone around ??3m to pay his contract up, and also because there was no obvious replacement.

The Chronicle has also always believed that when the time comes for Shepherd to make his next managerial appointment, he will not go back for anyone who turned him down last August - and this includes Allardyce and Birmingham City's Geordie boy Steve Bruce.

Of course, one manager who has not turned United down is Martin O'Neill, and I heard again from Glasgow yesterday that the former Celtic boss hopes to return to football in May, and would be interested in coming to St James' Park.
