Mike Jeffrey

 

Lively forward who broke into the Bolton team midway through the 1988-89 season whilst still a teenager. Jeffrey was unable to fulfill his early potential at Burnden Park due to the form of fellow strikers Tony Philliskirk and David Reeves so moved on to pastures new with Doncaster Rovers.

Replaced the Everton bound Jim McDonagh as Bolton's number one goalkeeper following relegation to Division 2 in 1980. Peacock lasted half a dozen games before losing his place to Terry Poole and eventually moved back to Doncaster Rovers once McDonagh returned for a second spell at Burnden Park.

I wouldn't say so, sure their late equaliser was a kick in the nuts but there was a big turn out that day, many worse matches in Neal's time.

Cunningham scored them both but that was the day we blew automatic promotion.Rotherham were a poor team that lost 8 home games and got relegated, but they held us to a draw which meant Grimsby only needed four points from Stoke away and Exeter at home to deny us 3rd place.Rotherham was the equivalent of Hull two seasons later when Rioch's team didnt blow it.
