Guest tel_net Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I am not going to jump on the "sack Sammy" campagin, however we need to look at the realities of the situation - if we dont get any points from the next two home games, the reality is he will be on borrowed time. Not something I necessarily agree with, but the reality of modern-day Premier League football. Will PG sack him? He says he's never sacked a manager, but he may soon be dealt with this situation. As for today - Cid is no centre-half and Hunt is no right-back. Nolan needs the captaincy stripping off him and giving it to someone else - god knows who, but we need a leader out there not some over-weight, over-rated, scouse tantrum boy. Nolan is living off one good season, it's about time people woke up and smelled the coffee. Tonight, we're likely to be the only team on 0 points, not a great start :-(
stevieb Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Gerald Cid is toss i agree. Think playing nolan off anelka was a none starter. On the other hand wilhelmmson looks like, with time, he could be quality and we did play some nice football at times. However, we needs points not silky football. Also samuel was out of position at times as well. There second was a joke as well, counter attack at its most basic!
Dexter Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 We've gone from having a solid back 4 with one in front to a shite inexperienced back 4 with no f*cker in front. Genius I'm not but thats speaks volumes to me.
Habit_that_kicks_you Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Guys I live down south and today I managed to drag a good few friends of mine to Pompy to watch the match (it was a special occassion and although none are Bolton fans there're all good guys and know football pretty well). As neutrals they could not believe how bad our defence was and I'm sad to admit, I have to agree. Nicky Hunt was terrible. Truely bad. I have no idea what Cid was doing, but lets just say I'm beginning to realize how good Taliban was. Every time James booted the ball upfield (Pompy had obviously worked this out before) I was worried and that should not happen for a decent team. Plus sides. I liked us in the first 15mins of the 2nd half. Once Doiuf had wound up the home fans he was on fire. Anelka desreved a better result and I like the look of Braaten. We really have to sort out our defence though. There was what let us down.
