August 25, 200719 yr My PC has developed a problem, where it won't stay on for more than 5 or 10 minutes without completely freezing up. Has this happened to anyone else before? What can I do to fix it?
August 26, 200719 yr Have you installed any new hardware or downloaded any software? can you do a system restore? does it still happen after system restore?
August 27, 200719 yr Author The only thing recently installed was a wireless adaptor, I have removed this and done a system restore to last week and all seems fine for now, but i'm wired to a router at present. I'll buy a new adaptor and see how i go with that. Thanks for the help H.
August 29, 200718 yr You could have a cooling problem on you processor. My machine started doing that a while back, when i looked at the cpu temperature in bios it was running at about 110 Degrees. Looked inside and the cooling fan wasnt spinning properly. Changed the fan, problem solved. Just open you machine up and check all fans are connected and spinning (also worth hoovering it out if you can)
