Think they've changed it because when the Eurostar goes from St Pancras instead of Waterloo, it'll be stopping at Ebbsfleet instead of Ashford. So if you want to support them instead of the Wanderers, it'll be a far easier & quicker journey for you. And you'll be able to drink as you won't be driving - bingo!

They got offered a bucketload of money to change their name by Eurostar who want to get the Ebbsfleet name more widely known.

 

They resisted for a couple of years but had to give in in the end. Financially they were fooked without it.
