August 6, 200818 yr We could all chip in a couple of quid then buy them. I think they could use Meite for ?12m?? Edited August 6, 200818 yr by cbwfcd
August 6, 200818 yr Provided Shinawatra doesn't want back all the money he has already invested, then they may not be a bad investment (as far as Football clubs go) - if he does want repaying and dumps them back in ?50M+ of debt, then I don't see too many people wanting to touch them. The thing that annoys me, is there will always seem to be people interested in buying teams like Man City and Newcastle, even though they rarely achieve anything
August 6, 200818 yr There must be 10 clubs in the premier league who are close to falling like a pack of cards, City/fulham/west ham/spurs/newcastle have spent silly money and pay silly wages, clubs like arsenal/liverpool/everton/pompey have or have to rebuild new stadiums at great cost, these financial constraints will begin to bite, it is only a matter of time, as we are run very sensibly financially,I hope this will benefit us.
August 6, 200818 yr I'd like to think so, Mounts, but .... 1. We're probably too close to the edge for comfort ourselves. 2. The authorities would do anyhting to bail out clubs like west ham/spurs/newcastle/arsenal/liverpool/everton.

At the end of the day, those team that you have highlighted help make the PL the "brand" that it is, and they have supporters clubs all over the world. The likes of Bolton/Wigan/Fulham/Stoke and Hull don't, if either of the latter named clubs went out of the PL, it wouldn't effect the PL "brand" in the slightest, as they would be replaced with clubs of fairly equal size and stature. If the formerly named teams got relegated, they would then be replaced by teams with a lower size and stature, which could be seen as diminishing the "brand" That's what I reckon anyway.

West Ham are desperately trying to trim the wage bill and their debt is ?142 million. Fulham have been massively in debt for years. Ashley's trying to get rid of Newcastle. Arsenal should be ok, providing attendances stay at the current level but Everton and Portsmouth (lost ?23 million last year) have cause for concern. I'm a bit worried about the amount we've spent (not that it didn't need spending) but we're in better shape than a lot of clubs and looking at the cost of new stadiums now, it looks like we built ours at the right time.

Remember thinking ?40m was alot for a stadium when we built the Bok but these days you can't even get an Annoying Potugese Ladyboy for that much.
