200 coppers though?

How many old folk were being mugged, kids being abducted/molested, women being raped, house being burgled etc etc, whilst most of Bolton's coppers were on one site?

Probably not many if they were stopping people leaving the site, allegedly etc.

Plus they pulled in outside help - ITK.

I'd wager the pikeys weren't the group responsible for most crime in the Bolton area.

Somalians and Albanians are worse.

Bad news:

Michael Harris, who has lived on the site for two years, said: "The police are just doing their job. They are not dragging us out of our caravans or anything like that."

As someone who enjoyed several caravaning holidays as I child I find this persecution of travelling people disgusting. If the police have a problem then I believe the correct procedure would be to contact the Caravan Club first, certainly before donning jackboots......

Raid could be related to this story from September.

A STOLEN mini-digger, trailer and power tools were returned within two hours after their owner saw them being driven into a caravan site in Farnworth.

Police said the thieves used a cutting device to remove wheel clamps before making off with ?12,000-worth of equipment outside the landscape gardener?s home in Tyldesley.

He went to look for his stolen digger and, within two hours, saw it being driven into a travellers? caravan site in Moses Gate Country Park. The man called the police and the equipment was recovered.

The man, who did not want to be named, said: ?I was just about to give up when I saw the digger going into the caravan park. I couldn?t believe it. It must have been a one-in-a -thousand chance to have spotted it.?
