Eddie Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Like others have said, if he stays fit then it could be a very very good signing.
Zozzy Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 'old boys club' pally pally signing. This is also about : outside business dealings / racehorses / getting a personality / future England football jobs If this deal was just about getting a return on the pitch for the thousands of pounds outlay it would be a non-starter. Premiership defenders would love to play against Owen instead of Rooney or Teves.
glasgowwhite Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 hope he never plays for england again never forget the hurt these people bring us
glasgowwhite Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Hurt? Go on, I'll humour you. Expand your opinion. Exiled in oxon find myself living amongst hundreds of the vermin and filth that allege to support the scum and whilst I should rise above it I cannot and let them get to me constantly. Sadly last season for me turned into not wanting them to win anything which is a very shallow existence believe me. The whole big 4 bollox & stay in Premier League at all costs mentality has finally go to me, I am emotionally drained. Hope I feel different on the 15th at Reebok v Sunderland
Zozzy Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 hope he never plays for england again never forget the hurt these people bring us So you mean the hurt he has brought by signing for ManU? not for what he has done in the past?
glasgowwhite Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 So you mean the hurt he has brought by signing for ManU? not for what he has done in the past? I mean the hurt caused by the evil empire that continues to blight my life had major respect for Owen in his England heyday for sure but struggle with anyone that signs for them, cannot help that
MickyD Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) Exiled in oxon find myself Rethink your user name. I had you down as living in glasgow! Talking of Glasgow, I was up there the other day and called at a bakers for some lunch. I pointed at a rather splendid looking yellow cake and enquired, "Is that a lemon tart or a meringue? The girl behind the counter said, "Aye, it's a lemon tart, yer no rang!" living amongst hundreds of the vermin and filth that allege to support the scum and whilst I should rise above it I cannot and let them get to me constantly. But we all do. It's all to do with education. In the past I've had a half-jocular dig at some of my kid's mates who dared call round with the red rag on their backs. I pointed out that their loyalties to a club which they've never seen is somewhat misguided. They won't ever get to see them other than on telly. None of them have changed their team yet but they don't wear the red rag if they're calling here so that's a result! Sadly last season for me turned into not wanting them to win anything which is a very shallow existence believe me. I spend every season not wanting them to win anything. I just look forwards to the day Old red nose either leaves them or suffers a fatal heart attack, well, just leaves them, I've not got him in the dead pool, why should I want someone who has to get it right? The whole big 4 bollox & stay in Premier League at all costs mentality has finally go to me, I am emotionally drained. It's how it is. How do you think supporters of the likes of Spurs, Everton, Villa, etc. go on. They'd all love, and believe they have the right, to be included in the 'big 5 or 6' Hope I feel different on the 15th at Reebok v Sunderland You will. Edited July 4, 2009 by MickyD

Guest Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 It's a panic buy; losing ronaldo, not getting Ribery, Benzema, just looking to get more numbers in. It'll end in tears (hopefully)
