April 18, 201115 yr Fuck off. 30 fucking years I have waited for this. They are paid millions of pounds to do their job and today they were fucking gutless. I'd sooner have seen 11 of us on the fucking pitch. Shower of fucking shit
April 18, 201115 yr To appreciate the highs. we've had the fucking lows, today was supposed to be a high. not saying we should have expected to win easy, but jesus, a low today would have been being beat by a last minute winner from a shit ref decision after battering them,or missing a sitter like Holdsworth. today was more than a low
April 18, 201115 yr That's the thing. I think too many people including the players thought we were definitely going to beat Stoke
April 18, 201115 yr I thought we'd beat Stoke, and so did the bookies. They had lost their last 7 away games in the Premier League, scoring just 3 goals. We have now lost 4 games this season by more than 1 goal (which isn't bad): Arsenal, Chelsea - and Stoke twice.
April 18, 201115 yr i know its all relative, theyre have been worse days, much worse days. but yesterday i had high expectation and the team werent just poor they looked as if they just didnt care, which i just cant understand. usually after a poor game im angry and disappointed, but yesterday (and its been said multiple time now) i was just utterly disgusted.

I'm with you, Homer. But I think I feel as much shock as disgust. I half expected a defeat - our current team find Stoke tough to beat. But I didn't expect a thorough shorts-down-come-and-roger-me thrashing. That was appalling. I think most of the worse days were when we were a struggling team in the lower divisions, e.g 0-4 at Scarborough. IMO yesterday was one of the worst defeats in the club's entire history because we have a decent playing squad, we have experienced internationals, we've had a decent season with only 2 big defeats, we were playing against an average side in the same division, and this was a shot at a once-in-a-lifetime FA Cup final appearance. And we rolled over and died from the kick-off. No bad luck, no match-changing poor reffing, no sendings off, no dazzling opposition ........ no excuses. The players should fund a free home match at the beginning of next season (reduction for ST holders) or an equivalent amount of money to local charities. They certainly didn't earn their wages yesterday.
April 24, 201115 yr Author Appreciate today even more after last week. Full stadium, great atmosphere and fantastic win. Onwards and upwards.
To appreciate the highs.
