Qualified For Europa Without Scoring

Featured Replies

Definitely a quiz question for the future.

A team has just qualified for the Europa League by reaching their national cup final, where they will play a team qualified for the Champions' League, so that, win or lose, they will qualify.

As a top division team (though actually relegated this year) they joined the cup for the last 32 round.

Drew 0-0, won on penalties. Next round - same again.

Their opponents in the quarter final went bankrupt and did not play, bye to the semi.

Guess what - semi was 0-0, won on penalties!

Seen this on Twatter. Absolutely ridiculous!
