Benny The Ball Posted January 4, 2012 Share Posted January 4, 2012 Its not often I post on here but I was inspired by Steve Wilson in today?s match preview on the BBC Website who has really nailed Coyle?s character and come up with a name that sums him up .... ?Coyle himself has not had to deal with that much stick from the fans and, as far as we can tell, retains the support of his chairman. He is an extremely affable and optimistic guy who, in the words of the old Bing Crosby number, never misses a chance to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. The danger is that if this continues he will soon be Mr In-Between - jobs that is. ? This got me thinking....... You can imagine him at the pulpit Gather 'round me, everybody Gather 'round me while I'm preachin' Feel a sermon comin' on me The topic will be sin and that's what I'm ag'in' If you wanna hear my story The settle back and just sit tight While I start reviewin' The attitude of doin' right ?????. And then launching into a slightly amended version of the Bing Crosby Classic ?. You've got to accentuate the positive Eliminate the negative And latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with Mister In-Between You've got to sell Cahill for the maximum Play Kevin Davies for the minimum Have faith or Relegations Liable to ruin Eddie?s Dream To illustrate my last remark One win at home, no plan B, cohesion or even a Spark What did they do just when everything looked so dark? (Man, they said "We'd better accentuate the positive") ("Eliminate the negative") ("And latch on to the affirmative") Don't mess with Mister In-Between (No!) Don't mess with Mister In-Between (Ya got to talk up the opposition to the maximum) (Criticise Paul Robinson to the minimum) (Have faith or Gary Megson?s) (Liable to make my record look obscene) You got to ac (yes, yes) -cent-tchu-ate the positive Eliminate (yes, yes) the negative and latch (yes, yes) on to the affirmative don?t mess with Mister In-Between No, don't mess with Mister In-Between Perhaps others can add some of Owen Coyle?s choice accentuated Positives ?.
