Ale Count

Was counting (roughly as some nights were a bit hazy the day after trying to remember) the amount of ale i drank in 2011 and seeing how much it came too unit wise (classing a pint as roughly 2 units, a bottle of lager as 1.5, a shot of spirt as 1 unit), in 2011 i drank roughly 1540 units of alcohol at a weekly average of 29.6, and thats with very rarely drinking midweek at all and having few weekends of drinking single figures. Typical binge drinking, nothing for 13 days then a weekend of 70 units happened a bit. Gonna try and get it down a little in 2012. No big drinking plans in January (few for the liverpool) but a stag weekend in feb in hamburg.

Gets you thinking about what you drink compared to what doctors say you should (is 21-24 units a week or something) especially as i didnt partuclarly think i drink much (compared to a lot of people i know)

1540 units isn't a small amount of money either is it!

I hate to think what I drink (units wise), like you I don't drink much, if ever, during the week, but I more than make up for it on a Friday and Saturday night - I shan't be drinking this month though until I go on my holidays on the 21st
