March 7, 201313 yr Right, i know there's a few self employed on here and i could do with some advice. Putting a few quotes in to some companies in my area for garden and grounds maintenance. I've been struggling writing the covering letters. What do i need in there. Keep it sweet and simple or kiss arse?

March 7, 201313 yr Also what kind of documentation are you providing? I'd make space available for commercial conditions your on. Ideally on the back of the covering letter. Things such as how long your price is valid for. Warranty if applicable. Contact details. Reference details.

Good job you mentioned the terms of contract because it hadn't even crossed my mind. Cheers for the help.

I hate this side of business, i prefer to walk in and speak in person. Two of these companies are big bastards so i'm trying to do things properly. Ive mentioned in the cover letters to these companies i'd do the first months maintenance on a trail basis with a 50% discount. 2 Days work on half pay basically.
