  1. 4 pound 10 shillings and 6 pence I believe, the same amount as my first weeks earnings in 1961!! Not much has changed at Bolton since I started watching them in the early 1950's, we were broke than and we are still broke no matter what happened in between.so don't worry guys we will still be around in another 60 years but still broke no matter who owns us!
  2. Strange appointment for me. Only four years of management experience of a Club that could win the Scottish Premiership with anyone in charge that league is so one sided without Rangers. He has no other management or coaching experience at all, mind the rest of the Scottish Premiership is at a similar level to our Championship so that's something I guess. Therefore very unsure of how he will be able to handle an under performing set of players who are of much less quality than he is used to and how he will handle being a predominantly losing manager rather than a predominantly winning manager. As I said a strange decision for him and Bolton. BUT, he has my full support so I hope that he can work the miracle that we desperately need, he was a very good player himself and his back room staff are good so perhaps it will be a great Gartside decision. Time will tell, I just hope that the boo boys shut up now and show some active support inside and outside the ground.
  3. Been away for quite a while but have now returned and will try and log in regularly in future. Probably one of the oldest Wanderers on here, as my first game was in 1953!!! I now live in Australia and so don't see the team play very often, but was in the UK in August and went to the Notts Forest, Middlesborough, Brighton, Crewe and Leeds games. What a shambles we are at present, although we should have beaten Leeds and Middlesbrough. Would be happy with anything above third from bottom this season, and hope that we get a decent new manager this time.
  4. Yes its a VIP league so that we can play two league games a week and a Cup game. It doesn't cost much to become a VIP and means the managers are supposed to be more committed. I'm the league administrator living in Australia, come from Leigh and have been a Wanderers fan since the early 50's (yes I'm very old) The league is in its 7th Season which will end on 21st March, so we are looking for new VIP members to join after that. All new teams will be Boosted and we will have one existing team (The Expat Army) looking for a new manager, and they are an ex League Champions team. So give it a go, The-Happy-Wanderers, League ID 132180 *~*~*~*The-Happy-Wanderers*~*~*~* This league has just finished its 6th season and is now a VIP League, and are now looking for new managers to see us into Season 6. We play three games a week, two league and one Cup, but more teams will give us both a better cup competition and a more competitive League programme. *-*-* >> Expectations << *-*-* 1) Most important rule is thus: If you do not log onto the game for 2 weeks you will be sacked. Reason behind this rather draconian stance is to ensure we have players who are interested in playing. Managers who only log in every month will not be able to build a proper team and so the whole competitive nature of the league is stuffed. If you need to be away for more than a fortnight for reasons (holiday, lack of internet access, terminal illness) then just flag it prior so I am aware and don't fire you. 2) You make money by three ways: Participating in the sponsorship every week (a prompt comes up when this is available) This gives you 1 million econ. Secondly, submitting Press releases- writing one every week gives you 200,000 econ per week. Ideally these should be humorous/witty/poignant. Often they're not, but we can dream. Thirdly, you can make money by selling players. 3) You can chose the name of your Team and also players- do this in the team settings box. Amusingly titled names are warmly welcomed. Coarse or rude names, as there are no age restrictions, are not acceptable and as such will be rejected. 4) You'll see that all of the managers are VIP members. All this means is that they've signed up for this status by paying for it. What this gives you is the opportunity to select your very own strip for your club as well as an avatar on your profile as well as a badge that your team will have assigned to it that you can create and upload. You will also have the ability to gain better stats on your own team and the opposition to you allow you to dictate the way your players play in the proceeding games. You also as a VIP do not have to answer the questions for your weekly sponsorship money. It also allows you to 'purchase' players from each others clubs within the league using the 'direct transfer' facility.
