  1. I cant see us having more than 2 points after 6 games. Last season Spurs had 2 from 8 until they met us, funny how we have a habit of playing teams back in form. Our squad looks too thin and badly balanced to be anything other than a struggling side this season.
  2. Of course he can. Kevs strengths are ruffling up centre defences, causing panic in the area, not acting as a right wing back. Bit off thread I know ( apologies ) but the player I would like to see in the next 48 hours is Craig Bellamy on loan. His best spell was playing off Shearer at Newcastle. Pace, anticipation, eye for goal, he would be a great foil for Kev. Sure he's a little prick, but he'd be our little prick.
  3. Blimey Spider that must be a first Lets not make a habit of it. Elmander suffers from crowd expectations. He isnt a natural scorer and if we could all, including Megson, just accept him as a wide support midfield/attack player I think he could settle down. I watched him in those Euro Champs for Sweden before we signed him. He seemed to play behind the front two not as a lone target man, which he just aint. OK, we blew around ?10 mill on what we thought was going to be a 15-20 goal player, he isnt going to do that but he needs to be allowed to play where he can be at his best, which isnt upfront by himself.
  4. What I dont get is why at the start of every game Elmander is stuck up front and SKD plays wide right. It doesnt work, never has as far as I can see. About 30 mins into the game they then reverse the roles and both players look much better for it.
  5. The theories I,ve read on here lately that everything wrong with the club is the fans fault- forget it! Give em something decent to watch they will get right behind the team and manager. BTW- FECKIN ROBBED
  6. Problem is, last twenty odd games have been relegation stuff and we aren't even scraping draws now. We got 4 points from those 2 games last season.
  7. Come on mate, you're like a long playing record with that one As someone who consistently tells us what a good signing we made in Elmander, I'd have a close look at some of your own opinions.
  8. Sorry Homer, it seems very relevant to me. This club deserves a better Manager who can give us better striking options than the automatic selection that is Elmander.
  9. Perhaps you guys left early that day when there were a hell of a lot who stayed and gave them a standing ovation at the end. Have to laugh though. After the Chelsea 4-3 there were an awful lot came on here celebrating like a win. I remember posting " hold on lads, we still lost " Funny old game.
  10. Personally, I would like us winning more than last season at what used to be " Fortress Reebok" And I dont care if it is scrappy 1-0 games. It was a cure for insomniacs last season and it was only those three away wins last November that kept us comfy. To slightly disagree on Mickey's earlier point- I really enjoyed the home Arsenal match. In the grand scheme of things it was another defeat but I remember chatting to mates after that game on how much we'd enjoyed us putting the shits up the Gunners for 40 minutes and how well the crowd responded to the lads actually being positive and pushing forward. Just wish we'd do it more often. That's what pisses off many fans, we can do it but too often looks like they are being stopped from playing that way.
  11. I dont think any would disagree on that one. Problem in past two or three years is that we aint winning enough games either playing great stuff or rubbish.
  12. I'll accept the reprimand Janice. Just seemed fairly relevant that his was the name mostly touted a few months ago, but fair enough.
