Devine won’t happen now as we have 5 loans and I can’t see it being a permanent. We can have more on loan but can only name 5 in the match day squad… and I think he’ll want all 5 that we have now in the 18.

Agree with that. Happy with this window again. We have 5 loans and quite a lot of squad players out of contract in the summer who I think we may end up moving on - Isgrove, Sheehan, MJ, Dixon, Kachunga, Bod (who we may keep depending on injury) to name a few. Irrespective of what division we are in … it could be our biggest window to date. Especially if we lose a few of our better players to decent bids. Could end up needing 10-12 players but I trust them to get it right.

Yeah to be fair there’s some pretty decent football content (from journalists etc) if you can work you way through the crap. I don’t believe this one… just thought it was interesting rumour late in the window. Can’t see how we could let him go this late having let others go already.

Some random guy on Twitter saying Declan John on his way to Plymouth for a medical… after sending Beck back and loaning out Sadlier I can’t see us letting him go especially to a promotion rival. A week or 2 ago I could have seen it but not after the second half at Charlton.

Geth only started left wing back to nullify Rak Sakyi. I’d be very very surprised if John or Williams aren’t starting at home against Cheltenham.

Nearly every player we’ve signed isn’t rated by his previous clubs fans… Millwall Fans said it about Bod, Cheltenham about Nlundulu. Even accy fans were saying Trafford is shit. I’ll judge when we see him play but if football manager is anything to go by he is an absolute baller 😂

I was wondering about that. His left leg is virtually straight when he runs and looks like it has got worse. Assume thats the side he had the knee op on?

Yeah it looks like it's dropped as profits have fallen. But she did earn that in 2021. Still a nice income if you can get it!

😂 I think the £48k fig was if she had worked every hour of every day through the year though. So her actual hourly rate was much higher

£421m of it was salary (£48,000 per hour).... which is over £400m by my reckoning. 😇 😂 The rest were divis. Got my precise head on too. I looked it up before I posted it...

She earned £469m including dividends in 2021.

She'd have to be pretty cold to destroy the local community and her father's legacy like that. But I suppose you don't get to £12bn net worth without having to make tough decisions and upsetting a few people on the way.

You could argue that about nearly any club and it obviously it happened to us with Eddie, Wigan with Whelan. Most owners drop out when they have to prioritise funding their other businesses or just run out of money. She makes £400m a year salary and is worth £12 billion... they are losing £26m a year. Drop in the ocean. Yes they could definitely be run better financially because £26m losses in the grand scheme of things is not sustainable but not sure she has a reason to back out. You never know though in football.

Only 2 billion in the bank... poor bastards

Our facilities at Lostock are pretty decent compared to others at this level - but nothing compared to what we had under Big Sam with the cryo chambers etc. I can imagine that further down the line we will be looking at developing Lostock properly or if planning is an issue maybe finding another training base again.

Just look at Everton - without a decent infrastructure you can spend half a billion and still have nothing to show for it.

It was maybe a sideways move a decade ago but not anymore. They have incredible facilities, one of the wealthiest domestic owners in the country and in the championship. I'm sure they would be doubling or trebling his wages - as you say money talks.

Would defo have to be 7 figures but think he only has 18 months left on contract doesn’t he?

Yeah 1 more addition and pray we don’t lose Johnston after Stoke have sold Souttar for 15m. Unsure how bad his injury is and whether that would affect anything anyway.

It’s supposed to be a pathway for our younger players and cheaper players we decide to take a risk on. They are on low wages so we only need a few players to make it up to the first team or be sold in the next few years for it to pay for itself entirely. It doesn’t mean that every one in the B team will be good enough or any will be for that matter. Khumbeni looks decent and Carty is a good finisher but no idea if they will make the step up though. I wouldn’t be taking a risk on promoting a young cb as cover when we are still in the mix for playoffs/promotion though.

Fulham paid 20m for Mawson but he had loads of knee injuries. Isn’t he on pay as you play at Wycombe? Don’t think many would take the risk on him fitness wise anymore.

If we don’t go up this season we will be fighting off interest from the league above IMO. Also disagree with the he’s a league 1 player because he’s in league 1. Kieran Lee was in league 2, Cameron Brannagan is an unbelievable footballer who turned down the championship to stay at Oxford. Bannan is better than league 1 in reality. He’s a league 1 player because he is still with us and signed a new deal. I’m pretty sure he’ll make it to the championship…with or without us. I don’t think Aimson will.
-
Charlton (A)
Aimson is as good if not better than Rico at defending his own box positionally and possibly better concentration…But Santos is far superior in every other department.. pace, strength, duals, aerially (defensively - maybe not attacking wise) and passing. Santos offers a lot more than Aimson IMO. No way Aimson would get anywhere near our team if we get promoted whereas Santos I feel could make the step up.

I also think some of his mistakes come because of the way that Evatt wants him to play. To take risks on the ball to retain possession in certain areas. He occasionally gets caught in possession or gives it away but that’s the risk/reward of the style. It has way more advantages than disadvantages for me and then you add in his 1 on 1 defending, dominance in the air etc. There are very few strikers that get the better of him and we’d struggle to find another like him. Just need him to score now!
