Yet he still chose to sign the contract. Players are often happy to re-sign for Parky at different clubs, Morais being one. As for him not bringing younger players through, he was the one who first found a proper role for Vela. Everton were happy enough to let him coach Williams, Connolly and Robinson. And Connell appears to be doing alright.

Wells was just one example. The point is, if Parky felt the midfield was good enough to accommodate two centre forwards, he probably would've done. Obviously, he didn't. I think he's been wrong about plenty of things, but I don't think he was wrong about that.

He's relevant to whether Parky has "proven he can work with anything else", which is what I was replying to. And that's relevant to us in that it might suggest there were other reasons why we struggled to fit le Fondre and Doidge into the starting line-up. He's unlikely to be our current manager for much longer, though, so let's leave it at that.
