Just reflecting when i was on strike, and how the lads in the Waggen and Horses before a match helped me out, and Damper Des and his famous battle bus came to the rescue for the away games, and on the picket line it was just like playing Millwall away Everyday.

Thanks Smiths, that photo really cheered me up. like one those rides thats currently opperating on Leigh Rd, just been on Red Issue, aving a wind up, someone started a thread about the strike, so have just got my twopenneth in.

I noticed last week the fair was back again.

 

I might be overreacting a smidgen but I've invested in a PVC front door with three Chubb dead-bolt locks. Behind this door is a thick metal plate. There are now steel shutters inside the front and back doors. The downstairs windows have been adapted to make them essentially unbreakable and security lighting has been installed to the front and rear. A CCTV camera/monitor covers the front.

 

Compared to my gaff since the gypos came back the Queen looks like a sitting duck.

Dont blame you MT, a load of pikeys just been evicted off a site in Gin Pit, one caused a crash in Princes Ave, knocking a concrete fence down, so the gypo people will be off to Westleigh.

Course a where Twiggy, me coat was full of COAL NOT DOLE stickers at the time, losing 0-6 at H/T, tried to get to the bogs, and Maggies boot boys wouldnt let me go.

I used to play Amatuer Rugby League, in middle of miners strike we played Redhills from Castleford all they had done for 9 months was train. We went up there playing for Salford Juniors. The only pit still working was Agecroft.We were then confronted by about 100 miners asking if we were the scabs that they where playing.Got absoloutley trounced but had a great day after the match.
