Traf
OK, my son wants to play games on a PC, but apparently the graphics card is shite. What graphic card will be suitable and at the cheapest price! Also how much memory will he need?
Happy Wanderer
Traf, check the games box, it normally tells you what the minimum requirements are.
Traf
Aye, but I get the PC on a special deal from Dell, found out its got a shitty basic graphics card and will need a better one. I was just after an idea of what I should buy and how cheap can it be!
Luton
Check this out mate a decent card. I have it in my pc and it runs fine with high spec games! http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/components...?quicklinx=30D8

Luton
it should be on the spec of the pc you bought but 512 mb should be plenty click on start then control panel then system and it should say on there under computer what your speed (Ghz) is and your ram
Traf
Apparently it has 256MB Single Channel DDR 333 Memory ( 1x256). WTF?
Exiled Girl
That means it's got 256mB ram contained within a single chip which fits into one memory slot on your PC. Single channel means it's slower than it would be if it were double channel. What that means is that you've probably not got much to play with. I'm no expert on games though, but I use my machines for graphics packages and I need 512mB min plus a whizzo graphics card.
