Traf Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Sam hasn't travelled to Thailand and probably won't go to the Japan leg of the tour either. Too busy now trying to sign players from his 3rd list!

I don't know about Nigeria but Bolton certainly toured South Africa in 1958 and more than likely played Malawi then.

Biffs All these lardy darr exoctic friendlys PAH! Give me Workington away anyday. I don't know about Nigeria but Bolton certainly toured South Africa in 1958 and more than likely played Malawi then. Through some extensive research, and contacts I cannot name due to the official secrets act, I have found this out. We played away to a Nigerian XI on February 11th, 1982 losing 4-1. Don't know where it was played but it definitely wasn't at home. Obviously not a pre-season friendly, and more than likely not even in Lagos, but at least I didn't dream it. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Biffs :D/
Horwich Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 underpants is correct with the date and result. The match took place in Africa on a Thursday but i dont know in which city. I am missing one Bolton home progamme between 1977 and 1984 and it happens to be the Barnsley match on 6/2/82 when details of the trip would be in George Mulhall feared that the "ill fated trip to Africa" would affect our performance at Hillsborough the next Tuesday....but we won there 1-0. I've got that programme
Guest Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 If anyone is guna watch Everton's game today, look out for Per Kroldrup. The guy is something else. He will be gone within 2 years!
