It seemed to be a Nat West issue, as the only other people I met who had the same problem were also Nat West Account holders, and as they charge 4% on withdrawals, it was probably cheaper on my VISA card anyway.

Nationwide Flexaccount is the answer....no fees and the normal exchage rate if not better :D/
