george Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Sam would take the Newcastle job if he has accepted that he wont get offered England or Man Utd. Because with Newcastles spending power he has more chance to win a trophy in the next 5 years than with us. Even if it is only the Uefa Cup or League Cup.
bolty58 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Minor point George. They've had that spending power for decades and still won f**k all. Unlikely to change.
Guest Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Minor point George. They've had that spending power for decades and still won f**k all. Unlikely to change. More to do with the managers they had though. The money they have spent they should have been challanging for the title more than they have been. If Sam had ??50m at the Reebok, where would we be now.....?
exiledwhite2 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 They have arguably not had a decent manager in that time though...Robson was on the wane and Keegan was over-rated. If Sam has an ego and self belief - and he has - he wil believe that, given their resources, he could turn them into title challengers.
pike_mill_white Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Think you need to add that they will not have ??50m+ every season - they have gambled massive amounts in the last season or 2 - i.e. gone into debt no doubt to sustain the mangers wishes. Can't see them giving Sam another ??50m - even Man Utd would struggle to cough up ??50 for a new manager.
no balls Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 would you work for Fat Freddie though? I'm not just talking about him being a fat ginger letch with a poor comb over, but I reckon he sticks his motty into the football side too much for Sam. And don't get me started on that back stabber Shearer.
