Quadraphenia

I saw the film when it first came out,but have never seen it since, seem to remember some good fledgling performances by Sting,Phil Daniels,Lesley Ash etc. Has anyone got the film on DVD and would be willing to loan it out,OR i would be willing to buy it off them,OR does anyone know where i could purchase it?

I wouldn't admit to that

Surprisingly, I have it on DVD and Video!! Got the DVD dirt cheap from 101cd.com in Jersey when they were having one of their regular clear outs. Not a bad outfit them. I have bought quite a lot of stuff from them at real knockdown prices.

Any one remember the kids t.v series in the late 70's that phil daniels starred in?

The film probably wasn't an accurate account of the era (but i wouldn't know because it was a bit before my time) I watched it as a teenager in London when it first came out and enjoyed it, and i just fancied seeing it again.

As a little kid(1966 ish) i remember the country was going mad over the Beatles and the Stones, but even then i preferred the Kinks and the Small Faces,so i s'pose i would have been a Mod if i'd been old enough. The opening bars of "You really got me" or "All or nothing" still send a tingle up my spine after all these years. Must have been a special time,to be a teenager and be part of it all.

Are you fishing there Bogs? 16 in 1970 me. Caught the latter end but always a Who, Action, Small Faces fan over that Merseybeat stuff. Also heavily into black American stuff including Blues. Bolton Palais. Now there was a place. Met the missus there. Countless battles. Seen a few thrown over the balcony there!

Are you thinking of metal mickey it was not Phil Daniels but another quad actor name him?

Nah, no point in fishing bolty, when theres only the possibility of a coupla nibbles :D, i just think it must have been better to be 17 years old in 1966,rather than 17 years old in the seventies, eighties, or nineties, it's just an opinion. Or- maybe we all had the same acne and parental earache whatever the era :D

Thanks to a kindly poster on here i got a copy on DVD and watched it t'other day -looks dated as fcuk now,but enjoyed it because i hadn't seen it since it first came out. I was amazed how many young brit actors were in it -

Obviously Phil Daniels

Sting

Lesley Ash

Toyah

Ray Winstone

Michael Elphick

Gary Shail

That big nosed fcuker out of The Bill

Thought i briefly saw Suggs out of Madness

My Missus thought she saw Nick Cotton out of Eastenders (but she suffers from madness)

That must have been so embarassing for him when he looked for his name in the credits!

......and for those ITK, a well known Bolton area lad called Kev Lawton makes a few cameo appearances as an extra around the beach fight bit.

More commonly known as Ginger of Easter Egg run fame.
