Looks Like we missed out on Fortune

Featured Replies

We are missing out on every fukin player at the moment.

we are well down the pecking order when it comes to signing top players, despite our recent league success we are left to choose from what the top sides dont want, cannot see this changing and it makes our non purchase stragety in january mystifying when we were in line for uefa cup/f.a.cup and a possible top 4 finish.

true but i would still expect us to be able to sign a player of fortune's standard. Sam should go back to signing the underated players cheap or free and loaning the rejects. Its got us a top half finish in the last three years.

So, we missed out on both Fortunes, eh?

That's the way the cookie crumbles, I suppose.

Totally accurate. Well said.

Why it didnt happen your guess is as good as mine.

A moderate investment in January would have secured UEFA Cup football at the very least.

As MK rightly points out, that investment, if made, could even have won us a trophy or even a top 4 finish. If any of those had happened, we'd have less trouble attracting players.

would it though? I do doubt this because more often than not there is no quality available in January, a moderate investment would not have got a player good enough to make us better

I think a fully fit Campo and Diouf would've made the difference

By moderate, I actually meant several millions! :D
